Is solo Arms Warrior viable in BGs and SoloQ at all???

For sure do that. It's tough to get a guide tailored for solo players (like me) and even moreso for solo warior. I know it's an MMO and all that but some of us prefer queuing solo and guides like that are sorely needed. So get on with it (no pressure lol).

I will start easy as it comes to my mind with some random tips & tricks :D

DISCLAIMER: All of those are my personal opinions & experience :D results may differ for you all :D

1) GEAR

Here is my current default BG setup: http://armory.warmane.com/character/...ecrown/summary
Going hard on armor pene : 60% base + 10% stance + 10% weapon proc = 80% and low on resi only about 1000+

I also have a 2nd set with 1500resi base with 2H and about 1600+ with 1h+Shield - this 2nd setup I only use if I happen to be the only meele in our group and I am being tunneled heavily. I would recommend staying away from it and let DKs+Paladins do the tanking in BGs - at least that's my favorite playstyle - as that enables you to stay glass-canon offensive with high pene + low resi

There is even an option to go 1700 base 2H resi (with elixir) and 1900 with shield - which I also did a few times just to spam /lol on enemy DKs while tanking them for ages in AB Blacksmith base fights :D HEHE ! :D

But this is really the unfortunate case of you being the only Meele grouped with only Ranged DPS+Heals :D

2) KILL TARGETS

a) In BGs (and low rated Arenas) by far the EASIEST kill targets for Arms Warriors are Warlocks and Shadow Priests!

Most low skill Locks don't use Teleportation Circles and don't have Sucubas far enough to avoid being AoEed
Also low skill Priests don't use disarm in time :D

But MOST IMPORTANTLY!! Almost nobody on low skill knows that Recklessness gives Imunity to Fear :D :D :D

So basic method of killing: Charge > pop Recklesness > MS > Rend > OP > MS > OP ... Execute spam :D
If Recklessness on CD: Charge > MS > Bladestorm = GG :D

b) Another neat trick to use and another easy targets are Frost Mages on low skill (and Mages in general) when you pop Free Action Potion (FAP). Most mages on low skill have no clue it exists :D and also they don't know how to Polymorph and reset the fight. :D

So when you get fed up with Frost Mages rooting you all time :D just FAP > Charge > MS > Rend > OP > MS > OP ... Execute :D
If they Blink go for Intercept. Also if you can it's better to just run to the mage and save the Charge ... but in BGs ... you have to be quick sometimes and just get that first connect before he roots / poly you ...

c) ***** prove method of killing Hunters with 0 resi and 2H weapon = Charge > Disarm > MS > Rend > OP > Execute :D
Hunters on low skill don't realize that with 2H weapon you can disable their ability to use Def CDs :D = Free kill

3) RANDOM PLAYSTYLE TIPS

a) Spam A LOT of Piercing Howl any time you need to stop enemy from running away - it CAN'T BE DODGED = spam it on Rogues, Hunters and it has big range = spam it on Mages, Priests, ...

b) When Rogue / Priests disarms you immediately go for Fear (= Intimidating Shout) + Slow (= Piercing Howl) so they can't take advantage of you

c) ALAWAYS TRINKET Hammer of Justice IMMEDIATELY!! Then pop on Retaliation and spam MS + OP with Heroic Strike in queue!! If Paladin goes Wings = Disarm! When you both low on HP feel free to Shield Reflect his Execute :D in his face :D but usually you kill them faster with this strategy while still on high HP!

d) Combo your Enraged Regeneration with dropping BG Flag that gives you extra %HP = bigger heal

4) LIMITS OF THE CLASS in SOLO BGs

Alirght just need to mention this : YOU CAN 1v3 , 1v4 and 1v5 !!! I have done it in BGs MULTIPLE TIMES!! Successfuly!! :D

Few stories that come to my mind:

EotS > beginning of the battle > I run to Flag > DK is picking > he has Rogue + Warrior with him. I let him pick. Then Charge. Start fighting 1v3: Piericing Howl. Retalition. > Trinket Rogue Stun. > Sweeping Strikes > MS on DK > Bladestorm (dancing away from Rogue and War and into War again so he can't charge + disarm). By this time Rogue is dead. (he dumb enough not to Evasion) Then I kill War. Pop Shieldwall + Enraged regen. Finish the DK :D

Multiple times I kill 2 Rogues by letting their KS overlap > trinket > Retaliation + Sweeping Strikes + Bladestorm :D and usually they so cocky they don't bother Disarming thinking the other dude will :D before they know it they both dead :D

Once I killed Frost Mage + Pally + one more meele :D

Couple times I killed 4 and 5 people in Mage Tower (inside in EotS) with Bladestorm :D

Also AV towers are great for juicy bladestorms :D

Strategy is usually the same > let them come inside so they cant run > if there are multiple meele = Retaliation + Sweeping + Bladestorm > as it ends go Fear (Intimidating Shout) into Shield Wall + Regeneration + Piercing Howl and finish everyone of them :D - if there are meeles spam Shield Block into Revange Spam - if there are casters = spam Shield Slam + Shield Reflect + Bash.

Have to say I got some really epic results with this ! :D People on low skill underestimate you SO MUCH!! Until is too late!! NEVER EVER EVER EVER EVER give up in 1v3+ ALWAYS FIGHT LIKE A ****ING MACHINE / LION / DRAGON / ****ING SUPER HERO until you drop dead!! :D

You will be surprised what a Warrior is able to do with right attitude and stupid enough opponents :D with wrong/lazy/overconfident attitude :D

EDIT: One more epic story : Once I killed hunter + Mage + one more range - just by Shield Block Hunter attacks - Reflect Mage casts / Bash him and the third guy was a mage too I think ... basically when you fight 1v3+ people tend to REALLY play bad as they feel like the other guys will finish you off --- so that's your clue to focus on this fact and surprise them!

Also killing 2x Hunter + Meele on BS base - same strategy Charge Hunter > Disarm > Kill with Bladestorm > Shield Block other Hunter > Gnome race the root > Intercept > kill with few attacks > and finally Shield Wall + Regen and kill the last dude

It's usually the same strategy: Go "offensive and berserk" (usually with retaliation/recklessnes + sweeping bladestorm) crazy high damage as much as you can > then go defensive (fear + wall + regen) and finish them off with Warrior tricks :D (reflects, revange shield block spam, shield slams).

Will be adding more things here as they come to my mind (again just my personal opinion / experience) :

1) Playing solo? Don't play human.

I myself LOVE to play GNOMES! If I could my Paladin would be a Gnome same as my Hunter! :D

Why Gnome on Warrior?

--- you small = hard to target / notice -- especially with Noggerforger elixir you practically invisible to most people on low skill
--- you have mini Blessing of Freedom on low cooldown to get rid of pesky Forst Nova / Roots / Traps - won me Arenas multiple times same as BG fights against Frost Mages and Druids that just don't see that coming!
---- YOU GNOME MASTER RACE ( I am not biased at all LOL :D )

A friend of mine - Rama - is playing Night Elf an he is extremely good with using stealth racial! It's great especially in duels to get that Charge of in mirror. Also the extra %dodge is epic!

Have never tried Draenai but a self-heal (based on attack power) seems legit OP as solo player + 1% hit means more space for other stats - like armor pene

Human I would not go because well ... everybody plays a human ...

As for Horde - Orc would be my choice because only thing Warriors suffer from is being unable to cancel Stun - unless by trinket - so Orc racial is busted for that - combined with Meta gem you get an insane amount of Stun time down!

Tauren is great for AoE stun and extra HP!!

Would not go Undead cause you already have Fear breaker by default as Warrior

2) Best BGs to solo on Warmane are :

a) SotA

BY FAR!!!! The BEST BG to queue on low gear!!! As you can just mount Vehicles and drive them / shoot from canons. Only issue is Vehicle HPs are based on your Gear so you will be pretty low on HP so be careful about not getting nuked. Other then that I always have TONS OF FUN on my Alts while gearing up in those BGs!

Also when you high gear is Fun to sometimes solo this BG just for the real rampage you can make here :D as almost everybody else here is usually low gear :D

b) AB + EotS

My FAVORITE BGs to queue!! A lot of small skirmishes allowing some epic 1v1, 1v2, 1v3+ moments :D Also has great objectives that most people understand and usually do.

Careful about AB on Weekends when a bunch of premades is queing too :D = make a premade on your own / join some / dodge them :D

Don't queue WG as solo you will with 90% probability run into a premade and cry/rage in corner. If you happen to lend here - maybe cause you queued RBG here is my strategy for WG solo vs premade:

- camp the flag room - you can get a lot of 1v1s or 1v2s here!
- cancel ress on grave and run to your corpse in flag room - ress there - most people won't loot your corpse
- grab enemy flag and run on enemy roof :D - same result - bunch of dude will come to get you 1 by 1 so you get some nice 1v1s or 1v2s

Using this strategy I usually end up with a nice score even in those crapy situations :D

Don't queue AV on Alliance - you will end up facing Kenzz with premade :D and regret doing it :D

If you happen to queue go for objectives (Miniboss > Towers > Boss). And pray Horde is here jsut to farm GYs. We have won quiet a few BGs against them like that!!

Don't queue IoC on Horde / feel free to queue IoC on Ally. IoC is in my experience 60/40 (for Ally). Ally usually wins by Docks > Glaives > Gates > Boss much faster then Horde by Hangar > Boss. But it depends on people present in BG.

If you happen to land here tell people to go Docks (Ally) or Hangar (Horde). Also tell people to Grab Quarry and Rafinery for extra %siege. If you stealth ambush Ally Glaives / if you Ally tell people to protect Glaives.

If your faction controls middle - grab Siege bombs from there and bomb the gate Glaives are attacking / Hangar is bombing.

EXTRA TIP ON BGs: Queue 2x BGs at same time. After one pops - you see it's premade / most of your team is Blackrock/Lordareon and enemy is full on Icecrown you can jump to the 2nd BG when it pops.

Also when you getting stomped this can be your escape route to better place :D

Lastly about 3 days ago I decided to spice things up a bit and finally get a personal experience playing last of the 3 "let-me-smack-you-in-the-face-with-my-big-stick" classes :D .... that is DK :D :D

Damn I have been palying too much of my DK for past week :D is just really a lot of ****ing fun when I pop into AV / IoC and I dont have to leave BG :D

Warrior I always queue only AB + EotS + SotA and sometimes WG

On DK I can jsut spam RBG and have nothing to worry about :D

I do miss my sweet Bladestorms though :D and 12k crits into Mages with low resilence with Mortal Strike :D :D :D

So I might soon do some more Solo Warrior BGs again :D

Also !!! I actually found a pretty much fool prove method to kill DKs as BiS Warrior - just beacuse now I understand how DK works better :D

Charge > MS > Disarm > Bladestorm that mother ****er ... if he lives ... > Rend > MS + OP spam :D

Disarm = DK can't heal :D :D

Works like ****ing Magic :D :D at least on people that don't expect it :D don't know what to do about it :D

Have to say - if you play more characters - it really pays off binding similar abilities - across multiple characters - to similar keys :D :D

You find your self misslicks way less :D :D

Also after playing all Pally + DK + War - have to say War is the most FAST / crazy character to play compared to the other - but also most satysfying to see those HUGE NUMBERS and those sounds of you jsut cutting down the flesh of your enemies into pieces LOL :D

DK seems much more slow paced with you doing AoE pressure and spreading disaeses and Paly is also very slow paced compared to Warrior.

I was considering dropping BS for Engeneering for extra gadgets on War - as both my Pally and DK have ENG that I find really awesome :D also Nitro boots into Bladestorm sounds FUN :D

Just wanna make a quick update from my observations :D

Warrior in BGs >>> DK :D

DK in duels >>> Warrior :D

As far as FUN so far :D

After 2 weeks of playing DK

Warrior still does waaaaay more DPS in BG :D and Bladestorms are SOOOO AWESOME!!

But DK is my choice for Duels in front of SW :) also totally awesome!! :D
