WotLK Staff cannot be equipped as Troll Warrior

Hello all.

I recently got a staff called Hewn Sparring Quarterstaff, but even though I have learned how to use staffs and the item doesn't appear red, I still receive a message saying "This item cannot be equipped."

Could this be a bug or is it anything intentional?

fury warrior ? put both weapons in bag then try to equip Hewn Sparring Quarterstaff (Titan's Grip tatent does not affect staff)

Yep, fury warrior.

I tried that before and it still doesn't let me equip it.
