Priest or shaman?

Hello! I`m new to warmane and i want to start leveling a character but i can`t decide between priest and shaman.

Which one is better overall, pvp and pve and which one is more demanding for raids?

Better? Idk.

Somebody else can share their views about PvP with the two classes.

PvE:
They both have their uses. Overall, priests are more desired. Shamans gets the short stick with generally one desired spec: restoration, where as Priests are wanted for their Discipline and Shadow specs, sometimes Holy.

If your aim is to play on Icecrown, pick either. You'll end up getting both classes anyway, if you're going to be playing here.

Shaman is better for healing PvP and PvE IMO.
Both are in demand for healing but DPS-wise only Shadow priest is needed. People rarely take DPS shamans.

From trade chat on icecrown, I always see a priest within a raid group already selected. I mean, ALWAYS. In PVP, it depends. World PVP a priest can be annoying and enough of a distraction for a partner to just slaughter your target for you. In arenas, you can argue all day what's better, because it's always player dependant.
