As the title says, I'm wondering should I bother to use traps as a Marksmanship hunter in dungeons and raids. They are very useful in leveling and PvP but now I wonder is there a point in running toward mobs and placing traps and then disengaging.

Yes, it's worth. Especially explosive trap. There is a spec for it, and it requieres a bit of practice to do it, because if you move when autoshot is happening, you will lose the dps. You should use a cast bar addon that tracks autoshot, and move between shots, put trap, disengage or walk away so you can be in range of shooting. In ICC, frost traps are used in a few fights like LDW, DBS, LK to slow the valks. Search on youtube for trap spec hunter, and watch how it's done.
Hope this helps.
