Warmane Icecrown new year event guide:

There are 3 main events this year and this guide might not include everything but it’s all the info I was able to gather through going through the events personally, info from guildies and friends and other people we raided with the past 2 days.

*** Deathmatch Event***

PvP event where u need to go pick up a quest from either Dalaran Sewers or from Stormwind, both near the arena masters.
The event starts multiple times a day and is announced by server, once it starts you queue through the NPC, teleport into an arena with 100 players total in a “Battle Royale” style deathmatch.
To complete the Quest you need to get 50 kills in total through the time of the event.

Rewards: 20k Honor + Blue murloc companion + Scroll of deception

*** Quest Chain ***
1- You start the quest chain from Crystalsong Forest near the wall between it and Icecrown (The Decrepit Flow) by picking up a quest [The Dead] from Arthas’ spirit in front of the Lich King NPC.
2- Go to the Southwest part of crystalsong forest (there’s a huge purple tree on the map, hard to miss) and on the western side of the tree you will find a Treant NPC called “Ander”, talk to him to turn in the quest and pick up the next one [The Dead]
3- Fly to Sholazar Basin, Nesingwary base camp, you’ll find a wrecked ship and you will probably find huge groups of alliance and horde, join a group, wait for it. A World boss called “Blackbeard” spawns there on that ship, 58M HP pool, if you manage to tag it, you need to kill it. Note: you can tank the boss anywhere but it must be Killed at the flag on that ship, so make sure the boss is there right before you kill it.
4- If hordes troll you and bug the boss, you can pull it to the small tent behind the ship, dps it down to 5-8% then start moving back to the ship, make sure to instantly retaunt if someone from opposing faction taunts it to bug it. Once you kill it the quest will be complete, talk to the npc on that ship and turn it in.
5- Fly back to Arthas’ spirit in crystalsong forest, pick up the next quest.
6- Fly to Borean tundra, Kaskala, on the west most part of the ice there’s a small hut, talk to the npc there and pick up the next quest.
7- Travel further west in borean tundra, the quest requires you to kill 25 Trash adds with 400k+ hp each and one more world boss with 50m+ HP
8- Travel back to Arthas and pickup the last quest, it sends you to hunt down the Treant “Ander” in Stranglethorn Vale, a little to the west of Gurabashi arena, you will Ander close to the sea, basically a tank and spank fight.
9- After you kill it travel back to Kaskala to turn the quest in the same hut and pick your rewards.

Rewards: You get 2 mini thor companions, 1 for that character and a 2nd Account bound one that you can send to an alt, you also get to choose 1 of 4 rewards which are some fun toys.

*** Azshara Crater ***
It’s a 25 man raid with 3 bosses. Note that this raid is really hard and was not made for low alt characters. You will definitely need a raid group of 6k+ characters.
Note that throughout the whole raid, anyone who dies can release and run back to the boss mid-encounter.
Each boss has a high chance to drop an epic mount, rare ones + 1-2 Tabards + 1-2 toys + 2-3 of unobtainable Tier3 gear pieces from Old classic Naxxrammas.

You start by picking a quest in dalaran to the right of the stairs to the Violet citadel. Once you pick up the quest a portal will appear near the npc and you can enter it in a raid group.
Once you’re in you can turn in the quest and pick up the next quest that requires you to clear the whole area by killing all the trash around the area where Queen Azshara is. After you clear go back to the spawn and turn in the quest and pick up the next from an npc in the same spawn area. This quests rewards you with a trinket that’s usable only inside Azshara crater. It gives you 40 extra talent points that you can use freely. Note that IF you decide to use this trinket, once you unequip it or teleport out of instance, ALL your talents for your current spec will be reset, so make sure to have them saved somewhere.

*** 1st boss (Azshara) ***
Boss is mostly harmless and is “Tank and spank” BUT the boss has 3 transition phases, each one has a different wave of adds and each of those have some mechanics.
For the 1st wave it’s mostly a nuke, Small adds > Big add.
For the 2nd wave the big add has a Spell reflect so make sure to keep an eye and if you’re a caster don’t cast while the buff is on the add. Also nuke Small > big add
For the 3rd wave, make sure you have Nature resistance totem or a hunter on Aspect of the wild, The wave will consist of One big elemental + 7 smaller ones, if all the small ones die, the Big add will enrage and wipe the raid, each small add that dies under the big add will take a big chunk out of the big add’s HP pool, The small adds are casters and cannot be kited unless you use LoS, alternately, you can kite the big add above the small ones, and start killing them 1 by one under the big add. Once the small ones are dead, take the big add to the next pack of small adds and kill them there. If you manage to kill all the small adds while having the big add stacked over them while you kill them, the big add will instantly die after the last small one is down. Hero and nuke is recommended in this phase and wave of adds. After that you can nuke the boss and get done with it.

The next quest requires you to clear all the trash in the area before the 2nd boss, Doomguards will be all around, once you clear them you go back to the spawn area, turn in the quest and pick up the next one. It rewards you with a ring that gives some strong stats and has an Active use: Absorb 100k damage for 4 seconds. It has a CD of 15 seconds. Make sure to Keybind the ring as it will be needed through the rest of the raid.

*** 2nd Boss (Malga’nis) ***
Start the boss and nuke it down to 75%, The boss will then take all the group to a shadow realm where there are many shadow copies of the boss around, only one is the real boss, split into 2 groups right and left to tag the boss, then you go to the 2nd phase and nuke it down to 50%, then the same transition happens again.
There are 3 major things when it comes to this boss. First is he will cast “Doom” on one random target that stays for 8 seconds, if u wait the whole 8 seconds it will kill you. You can either use the ring or have a priest dispel it. Second thing is Finger of death, Boss will target 1 random player and cast it, if you the boss targeted you and started casting it, Use the ring instantly. Throughout the whole fight, the boss will have a debuff that GREATLY decrease Casting speed so it really is a tough fight for casters, the debuff can be resetted through LoS but it’s not that usefull because once ur back in LoS you will get it again with full stacks. If any one from the raid dies through the fight, a Doomguard will spawn, make sure to tank it away from the boss as it has an aoe stun (Stomp). At 30% Hero and nuke the boss. In case more than half the raid dies and it gets messy, regroup at the bridge before the boss and kill the swarm of adds then go as a full group again to the boss.

If you already have the next quest, go back to the spawn area, talk to the dragonkin to start the event. Some Sparky orbs will spawn all around the map, you need to kill them all. You can have 1 tank @Spawn with the dpsers and assign 2-3 people to mount and run around to body pull all those orbs to spawn. Once you kill them all quest will be complete and will reward you with a necklace that gives +250 most major stats (Haste, Crit, ATKPWR, Spellpower). Pick up the last quest to kill the last boss.

*** 3rd Boss (Titan) ***
This one is a little tricky and requires more focus. The boss has some mechanics that can easily wipe the whole raid but once you understand them it’s really easy.
Have the whole raid stack under the boss like you do with Lord Marrowgar, start dpsing the boss down. The boss will spawn Spark orbs around him that will start slowly moving towards the boss, If it manages to reach the boss it gives him a buff that will make him damage a lot harder and basically at that point it’s a wipe so if that happens just reset the boss don’t bother trying. The orbs need to be nuked by rdps AS SOON AS they spawn. The boss casts 2 types of mysterious runes (Colored circle on the ground) the lighter colored one gives whoever stands on it some haste, the Darker one Decreases the haste. Make sure not to have the boss over that rune that increases haste and it’s optional to tank the boss over the one that slows. The boss also casts Unchained magic like Sindragosa does on random targets. If it stacks up to 10 OR if time runs out, it will explode and do huge damage to targets, make sure to have your ring ready for that explosion. Once you kill the boss you go to 2nd phase where he spawns a mirror image of himself and goes back to 100% hp, nuke him down again and be careful of the same mechanics as phase 1. Once you kill the second you go into the last phase with boss + 2 mirror images. This is the hardest part and you need to Hero and nuke the boss down asap, tank the boss in the middle between both images, make use of all your defensive CDs, Big heals while also being very careful of nuking down the orbs as soon as they spawn, using the ring to soak the unchained damage. Remember that 1 stack only from those orbs is more than enough to wipe the raid.

That pretty much sums up the whole Azshara Crater raid with most mechanics I know of so far.
Turn in the last quest (which gives absolutely nothing, Seriously warmane?) and you’re done.
