WotLK Can you transmog items if you don't have the rep for it?

I want to transmog an item from the Frenzyheart Tribe which requires Revered with Frenzyheart but am unable to switch factions due to a quest bug (already opened a ticket). If I were to obtain it through the Warmane store would I be able to transmog the item even if I don't have the rep for it? Can anyone confirm if it works?

The reputation is only required to buy the item. That's what I've seen on numerous 'Do I need reputation if I buy via store' -threads being the answer.
