1. AH - single item abuse and scammers

Can something please be done about this? Right now there are 1,551 individual listing for IceBlade Arrow as a SINGLE arrow, and its bid is 1 copper and buy out is a few gold, there are many other items people do this with to force their item to the top of the page listing and they use a script or add on or something to ALWAYS cancel the bids before the time runs out.

  2. This issue is probalby older than some players I see in ICC pugs. This has always been a thing even on retail until they came up with the completely new AH system. With the "old" and current system, you can still easily counter them by getting an appropriate addon like Auctioneer but there are a few more out there. Just make sure that before you even start browsing adjust the listing system to your liking so it doesn't start listing from the lowest bid but the lowest buyout / item etc...If you set it up right it will show the cheapest ones to buy out, usually stacked items. It shows the items that have the best price % compared to any other auction from that item group. Be it stacks, be it single items. You can also toggle that the price tag shows the price / each unit, when you see stacks so you know if the price is alright. This way you completely avoid bid scammers.

Talking about price, it doesn't hurt to scan the AH with an addon every now and then or just simply download it from a website that collects AH data every day from private servers. This way, your addon'll give you a percentage value of every item you search for compared to their avg. prices. Just don't get fooled by the values after the gold squish, they'll of course show 40-50% of their pre-squish value. It's also a general rule that just because the % seems extremely good and profitable, guess what, there are scammers here as well. They list worthless items for months for sky-high prices from 20 different chars to make it look legit and after it gets into everyone's AH data they put them up for 20-30% of their original price. Of course some players see this and instantly buyout each and every one to invest and sell them later for huge profit. Needless to say, no one's going to buy an item that's worth like 3 gold for 1000, unles they also got scammed by the %.

AH scammers always target people who use the default AH system and see the lowest bid first. They also usually put up like 500 cloth for a seemingly good buyout price, but once someone is patient enough to buy them all out, he'll come across some cloth groups that are hidden among the other nice ones. These will have the same bid, but a ridiculously high buyout. If you don't pay enough attention, you can easily fall for these, especially if you're using an easy buyout addon where you just click and click without having to confirm.
