    Ban reason

    Hey, all!

Earlier this evening, I was raiding with my guild, when suddenly the following message appeared in the chat window:

So, someone was banned due to "illicit activity". Does anyone know what that could possibly mean? Is that a different way of saying "X disrespected ToS", or does it mean something else?I am asking all of those questions out of sheer curiosity.

    Thanks for your time!

I would imagine, pulling from the definition of "illicit" which means "strictly illegal" that this has less to do with disrespecting TOS but rather one of these people that would actually try to pull off ILLEGAL stuff, such as the occasional "meme but not really" posts about selling prescription drugs in trade, effectively turning warmane's trade section into a possible drug trafficking hotspot. Also have seen cases of guilds dealing with revenge porn or just distributing nude photos of other players, etc. We live in a mafia world, lol.

To me "illicit activity" is as mysterious as "tos violation" or "disrupting gameplay". They mean nothing in particular.

Thanks for the clarification. That actually makes a lot of sense.

VVell, as far as "disrupting gameplay" goes, we know that it covers specific cases - afk-ing in dungeons/bgs, asking for a kick, maybe interfering with someone's game experience (excluding cases like ganking or standing on top of mailboxes/npcs). I agree, that "ToS violation" sounds mysterious, cuz it can cover a huge variety of cases (though, personally I think it's related to the coin policy or selling characters outside of the trademarket).
