1. Lol my god i have no idea how in the world that typo got in there. I meant to say it is in fact an absolute download and that along with new character models is making it feel like an entirely new game.

Here is some gameplay in ICC with vulkan turned on https://youtu.be/ax_9js7CEqw

edit: and here is a before and after in dala, really shows what this thing can do! https://youtu.be/VgPrpWvC_FQ

  2. I am currently playing on an Intel HD 770 and this improves fps a lot. I get stable 60 fps in almost all situations. Take into consideration:

    * If you download the most recent version of dxvk from github the game will crash on startup. You need to update the intel drivers: https://www.intel.com/content/www/us...l-windows.html

    * Using vsync with dxvk adds noticeable input lag. What I do is I disable vsync and instead cap fps using rivatuner. If you have tearing or intermitent slowdowns try to play with the "scanline sync" setting of rivatuner. If you don't want to use rivatuner, you can also cap with "/console maxfps 60", but you will have tearing for sure.

  3. is this for Linux only or for windows too?
And to add to my previous post and answer after it:
info: OpenVR: could not open registry key, status 2
info: OpenVR: Failed to locate module

  4. This is for all OSes. I use it on Windows.

That part of the log that you show is not a problem. What happens when you try to launch wow? Can you post the full log?

  5. well i started it, i had to drag the x64 d3d9.dll in the wow.exe folder, not the x32

  6. If you drag the x64 version, it won't work at all.

  7. Correct. Driver was the problem, driver:497.29 which i had is updated to 528.02 and now it runs with the 32bit file.

  8. update feedback after i was able to start vulkan with update of the drivers
    - with vulkan i have ~5% fps gain vs no-vulkan enabled on these drivers.
    - however, my fps loss with 528.02 vs 497.29 is ~12-14%.
With reinstalling the 497.29 again i got the higher fps i had before.
The tests i ran for myself i a graphically stable location meaning no clouds changing, weather or anything, no players, nor npcs/animals, 5 times completely exiting the game and logging in recording the same fps readings over a minute.

The above is not to say that Vulkan is to not be used, everyone is free to choose and nothing should be trusted as clear water, tests must be completed, some systems might benefit it, who knows.
One additional thing i had with the new driver was some occasional micro-stutter. Its from the driver, vulkan or not it persisted. I've experienced it with some older version drivers too, not all but some had it. Even with lower fps with Vulkan they were still high enough to play more than happy, but the microstutter i cant bear so i'm sticking with 497.29. And higher fps anyway..

  9. Forgot to add above, i have RivaTunerStatisticsServer OSD running where the status was changing between d3d9 and vulkan when i was starting the game with or without the d3d9.dll and needless to say the settings in the config file like the amount of PC RAM, VRAM, cores, fps caps etc were set accordingly too.

  10. @Opexo Yea the FPS increase definitely seems to be incredibly reliant on hardware, like you said you're not really seeing much of an improvement but for myself I've doubled or even tripled my FPS in some cases. Hopefully in the future this converter will be compatible with more equipment : )

  11. If anyone has the Issue where it is saying something like "not detecting screen":

I fixed it by simply installing the vulkan beta driver ( https://www.geeks3d.com/dl/show/10155 ). It seems to be included in the normal nvidia GPU driver, so i guess you just need to update yours.

Thanks a lot for this upgrade. Now I can enjoy dala and stormwind. Before wasnt fun at all.

Update: After testing it further, I realized how badly stilll the performance is. Especially in dungeons fighting 4+ mobs at the same time.

I have an high end Laptop with a 3080, so it cant be because of hardware.

    Any ideas?

  12. If anyone has problems with boosting the performance, on reddit i describe exactly how i fixed it for me.

  13. warn: Skipping Vulkan 1.2 adapter: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 650
warn: DXVK: No adapters found. Please check your device filter settings and Vulkan setup.

what to do with older GPUs? My GPU supports vulkan, but unlike more modern GPUs, I have driver 474.14 (latest update) available when others have 528.XX or higher
