1. Merc mode for Horde

Alliance only for now, we will expand it for horde too later this month.

Will merc finally be added for Horde?

  2. Not for a while at least. The reason it was added for Ally in the first place was because of the huge imbalance between queued players. Ally consistently had more people trying to join BG'S than Horde, so it would take a while for them to get in 1. Horde has FAR shorter wait times.

So they added Merc Mode in the first place to alleviate the issues with the Ally queue.

Adding a Merc Mode for Horde is pointless, as there's no issue with the Horde queue.

  3. Adding it makes no difference at all for queue times. It's like you said. It would remain the same depending on A:H ratio.
We want this for mixed BGs and gvg's on Horde.

  4. We want this for mixed BGs and gvg's on Horde.
How do you see that happening?
The whole purpose of it is to fill missing spots on the side with longer queue and nothing in the changelog says that will be different. For there to be Horde on both sides it would still require too many of them queued for too few Alliance, which isn't what happens, it's the opposite.

If it's 10v10, we make two raids of 10 people (total 20) and queue a specific BG. This has been a thing for almost 2 years now every week on A, sometimes more days in a week. It's exactly what you said. The queue will remain the same, maybe for some time. Eventually the factions will balance a bit more because everyone who wants to participate in organized battlegrounds is alliance right now.

You indirectly commented on existence of an issue that persists for a long time - faction imbalance. You can see it in your statistics, but you can't see the reality of how bad it is in wpvp. Besides implementing mercenary mode on Horde (which changelog confirmed it's coming in December) you should work on general faction imbalance by simple tricks like increasing honor gain and allowing free faction switch for the imbalanced side. (From A to H)

That would only work if there weren't Alliance players queuing for that too, no?
And as soon as they realize Hordes are doing that, guess what will happen.

Even after 2 years we're not sure how the queue works exactly. I can't comment on the mechanics of getting into bg and why it sometimes takes 10 minutes and sometimes instantly after both groups queue. However, it works and we've been doing it for a long time. We queue and we go in the same BG number. As alliance pvp community, we probably played over 1k of these organized bgs since 2019.

  8. As Alliance.
    Who has the biggest population.
Who gets affected by Mercenary mode.
Who gets players set to play on the Horde side because of all that.
The preference is still for non-mercenaries to be on the proper side. The only way what you think will happen to become true is if there aren't 10 Alliance players queuing, who would take precedence over a second group of 10 Hordes (unless something else was changed and isn't mentioned).

The precedence or position in q is irrelevant because of match making (gearscore) and bg number. One group leader queues as merc, the second leader queues without merc. In 80% these queues we get the same number. In 20% we don't, we simply requeue to get a new same bg number. We're usually playing after 1-10 min of queue.

This is not what I "think will happen". This is literally what we've been doing since merc was added, and literally part of the reason why most PvP guilds are alliance.

  10. You still don't get that the system will set both groups against Alliance before it sets them against each other, unless there aren't Alliances queuing too...

In theory yes but it doesn't work like that. As a 10 man premade on both sides you wait anywhere from 10-30 minutes to get in a BG. After 23 ST the queue can go up to 1 hour. There's no explanation for this if website says 30k online people. This is also why everyone moved to Alliance so we can do 'mixed' BGs instantly instead of sit in queues for hours. Guess what, Horde can't and it's lame. There is no argument not to allow mercenary mode on Horde.

That's because a small amount of community actually does PvP, and on top of that they get sharded to an even smaller amount by bracket systems. Thus after certain times you end up with sometimes endless queues in different brackets.

  13. That's just another theory and it's not related to this thread.

    Add merc when?

"Alliance only for now, we will expand it for horde too later this month."

  14. It's a fact, not a theory.

Also you got the answer, probably never.

Explain how queues can take up to 10-15 minutes if horde has a 10m group and alliance has a 10m group for wsg in q.
