Where are my toons? :(

Returning to the game after 4 years (3 since last loging to website) and all my toons are gone. had some mounts etc bought with coins. Is there a way go get them back or are they lost for good?

Are you checking in-game or online? If you're checking online, then they have been flagged for a name change. If you're checking in-game, then I'll assume your characters where on either Deathwing or Ragnaros and weren't ever transferred to Icecrown but that was longer than 4 years ago, it occured in 2016.

I don't know how true it is, but other people claim that you can have items restored that you paid for with coins by emailing the staff and explaining that your character was deleted in the merger.
