I'm playing with my daughter who is trying to level a priest not as shadow.
I have looked around for a guide on Holy or Disc (this is her preference) or as a hybrid but I have struggled to find anything detailed or deeper than a few throw away remarks in forum discussions.
Surely there is a guide for this somewhere that I have overlooked?
For now we keeping her wand up to date and rolling with:
To be honest. It would be far better to level as a shadow and get a second spec at 60 / 80 or whenever you get the gold.
or just change your talents once you hit 80. leveling as a healer, especially as a priest is a pain in the *** unless you are going to sit in SW / Og and spam rdf. then its EZ GG .
Don't even consider leveling as disc it's a pain. just roll shadow and gather gear for disc on the side and buy dual talent. priest level up is already hard don't make it harder by going disc.
Don't listen to them. Disc is for my opinion the most powerfull skill tree for a priest. You are good in dmg/healing for solo and dungeon. And with the right talents and glyphs you can also bomb with holy nova. Look at https://www.icy-veins.com/wotlk-clas...leveling-guide

While I would agree that Discipline is a strong spec for leveling, I prefer to use it too, the talk about Holy Nova won't be so great unless maybe you level on Lordaeron and get lucky enough to regularly do dungeon content. Otherwise, you will not have the mana to support the use of the spell. This is cited as much in the link you posted as well.
Also, can we please not necro post old dead threads? You can create a new one for the topic just fine.
