Kara chess event

Sooooo just tried doing a transmog run in Kara and it was going fast and smooth until CHESS. It was 5 of us and the event is literally impossible. The opposing king literally one or 2 shots pawns and gets healed to damn near full every 20 seconds. I was trying to farm the lights justice mace for transmog but even with a full 10 man group this **** is just waaaaaaaaay overturned. Has anyone else been able to get through this?!?!?
