The issue has been resolved.

COD mails stays in mailbox after timer expires, and returns after player logs out(probably 15min after logout). Maybe that's what is going on. Or maybe you ddidn't set it as COD. Ask the recipient, that's also an option.
I understand that there are such cases. But I assure you this one is not one of them.
