Hunter Pet Attack help

I've been taming all the normal mobs that should teach Claw and Bite but none of them have the attacks.
I even tried leveling them a bit to see what happens, but nothing changed. All the pets have taunt and nothing else.
What am I doing wrong?

I believe you have to use a pet trainer to get pet skills. it's that way for warlock
