1. 17 Hours Alterac Valley?

You should be aware of the situation in which queues take more than 2 hours. Yesterday the AV took place for 17 hours. Do you even have an intention of fixing it?

  2. people are just farming hks there, it's stupid but it's the meta. same thing with rdf queues, there are no tanks, they can't fix it, it is what it is

  3. there really needs to be a time limit on these things, like someone who gets pop and shares account can sit for 20+ hours in the same alterac while we work plebs sit 4 hrs in queue and have to go offline again...in this current system i can do r14 faster at the wpl escort quest path than with alterac

  4. Multiboxers taking too much places for other players that want to play....

  5. What needs to be fixed?
Incentives are needed to actually capture objectives and win Alterac Valley.

Right now there is literally zero point in doing so.

  6. From the Warmanes Players Code of Conduct:

"Honor Exploit: Allowing someone to kill you or let you kill his/her toon to get Honor points in locations where it can be done fast and deliberately is not allowed."

Every AV is as close as it can be to breaking this rule. Sure there isn't any written or spoken deals between factions/teams to do this "that i know of".
Will see where this will end up.

  7. What needs to be fixed?
They need to adjust mercenary mode such that there's no minimum number of the opposite faction in order to create a BG. Just have Horde vs. Horde BGs (or Alli vs Alli) because right now there's a strong chance you won't even get to play AV because everyone just turtles and farms HKs.

While yes, I do agree, this is what the vanilla AV experience was like. Adding reinforcements or timers would change the meta dramatically towards the other side, which is "run past every opponent and just rush boss" which is (in my opinion) even less fun.

What needs to be addressed is the queue times. Reduce the number of people required to start an AV match. Waiting for 2+ hours for AV to pop sucks balls, those of us who want to primarily PvP instead of PvE have no choice but to just queue and go AFK and wait until you hear the queue pop.

  8. 17 hours? i seen 23 hours and now i'm in a 23 hours run kekw...

  9. Well at least there is some pvp going there instead of both factions running to the boss ignoring everyone else.
I prefer the first option really, let them fight.

  10. the ques are way 2 long with more than 2h currently. they need to fix this and enable more AVs on the server. it will be instantly full.

Aye, queues are minimum 1 hour, max 3 hour+ that i've seen. Don't know how the mercenary system works, but i've got it on for 7 AV queues now and every time went to Horde side that is full while Alliance has 1-20 spots open nearly all the time. Maybe there is some small limit how many Horde players can join as mercenary on ally side, if so lets take the limit off :)

This is really sad for any casual PvP players that don't have whole day time to play cos of work, family etc. If you have in a good day 4 hours to play, you spend half of it in a queue that starts from 1 hour and keeps rising up to 2 h so you can't really do much else being afraid call will pop up middle of smth :S

Hopefully Warmane staff has some tricks up their sleeves to make this work :)

The trick up their sleeve to make it work is making the PVP system based on honor like it's supposed to be. Vanilla ranking is not based on HKs. It never was and it never will be. It's based on honor, and the fastest way to get the most honor is by winning BGs, especially winning AV. Winning quick AV games is the fastest way to get honor in vanilla wow, unless it's the BG weekend for WSG or AB, in which case the fastest way to rank up is by winning those battlegrounds.

"Farming HKs" by killing the same players over and over does not work in vanilla. HKs have diminishing returns after killing the same player repeatedly, and very quickly result in gaining only 1 honor point. The idea that battlegrounds are about just killing the same players over and over is the exact opposite of what vanilla is about. Winning the BGs is what it's about. That's what skilled premade teams do, and that's what good players do. That's the only way the system works, because otherwise the BGs go on forever and AV has 3 hour queues for horde.

Nothing about the way PVP is set up on Onyxia is correct. It needs to be changed to a system that rewards ranks based on honor, with the BGs providing honor for completing objectives, and diminishing returns applied to repeated HKs of the same players. Only then will the games be played as games like they're supposed to be, and the queue times made reasonably short. This is the only option. If they want to set it so getting a certain amount of honor gets you a rank, I think that's great. But it can't be based on HKs. Winning battlegrounds has to be the main way to rank up, otherwise this server isn't going to last.

  13. Come on , GM can you do something with the AV , people trading kills , 99% of AV fights at Bridge both side trade kills for real , i know people wanna get the gear , but its not how should work pvp , give people for wining HK's , second day same AV....
