Leveling gear up

The 7x XP is amazing but I feel like leveling so quick makes things a bit harder as things go on. I'm level 21 and basically have the gear I started with so may as well be naked. Any tips on fixing this?

I've been questing but most end up too low level to bother by the time I get to them.

Who says you have to only do red, orange or yellow quests? Keep doing quests in the area, even if they don't give exp. Alternatively you can visit AH, or craft them yourself.

Get professions.
This will enable you to either craft your own gear or make gold to buy gear.
