BTW, you can check what World of Warcraft patch level an addon was specified to be compatible with by opening with notepad, the addons *.toc file located within its folder.
## Interface: 30300 = Patch 3.3.x, probably will work... may not
## Interface: 40000 = Patch 4.0.x, this should be 4.0.6a good
## Interface: 40100 = Patch 4.1.x, may be ok
## Interface: 40200 = Patch 4.2.x, less likely to be ok
## Interface: 40300 = Patch 4.3.x, still a chance addon will function 100%
and so on...

I've been working on a batch file to scan WoW addon directory for rogue *.toc files, for easy identify of invalid addon structure. Would also implement read of *.toc file to report patch level verified by Interface tag. However, having major issues just trying to scan for the *.toc files and skipping first level of subdirectories within the "WoW\Interface\AddOns" directory. Pretty much giving up on these ideas :(

If they are "outdated" remember to go to "AddOns" whenever you are on the character selection screen. If the addon does not work, go to curse.com > Search the addon you want > click "Other Downloads" and find the game version (not development phase version) 4.0.6 and it should work with Molten.

Frostwolf is Cataclysm 4.0.6a.
Carbonite 4.034, specified for 4.0.3a works without error. Carbonite for 4.1 throws errors.

One thing that cannot be avoided when used for questing, loot collect/kill quests in particular is the zone Carbonite specifies for kill/collect may be tagged on map as being 'Return to *Quest giver'. Believe that is due to database fetching error for the kill/collect mob/item being not found, and the return to quest giver to complete portion of the quest becomes primary objective. Just ignore the return to quest giver on the map kill/collect zone and look at the Carbonite quest log to determine what it is your needing. Most of the time, once you enter the kill/collect zone, you will spot the required mobs tagged red or yellow depending on quest. I have found that many of these quests actually work, while there is also a portion that are bugged.

I love Carbonite 4.034 for the google-maps like cartographer it has but the Questhelper is a problem. The bad is it sometimes seem unable to show target zones and questobjekts but it also seems Carbonite checks server for existance of thouse Questobjects so in a way it shows ahead of trying that theese Quests are likely bugged. This isnt reliable but i doubt any Questhelper is reliable atm. given the new Cata-Quests that need fixing.

So cant blame anyone but ourselves as we all voted to go ahead and update realms to Cata. But frankly IDK, i love it anyway (Cata-wow and Carbonite :).
