WotLK Coin shop dilemma

Hello fellow priest players!

I have a somewhat decently geared holy priest on Icecrown and I was pondering. You see, I personally think donating for gear is unsatisfactory and thus I've never done it. I did however donate to update my account to premium... and then I donated again on a friends account to upgrade him as well, then transferred the coins back to my account. That means I have a total of 21counts (the reason it's 21 and not 20 is because I donated during period when you would get extra coins).

Now, even though I didn't plan to do this, I figured I might as well grab an item, a trinket would especially be nice because my secondary trinket is pretty much a DPS one and I've been trying to replace it for ages but I couldn't... except I am literally one coin short of buying a BiS trinket.

One item that I could get though is Solace of the Defeated. It's not BiS, but still a very very good trinket. So question is; are there ever discounts on the marketplace when I could get a BiS trinket or I shouldn't hold my breath? And if I can't get a BiS trinket, would you recomment buying Solace of the Defeated, or should I buy a rare mount or something from my coins. For sure I am not going to spend more coins, so 21 coins is what I'm working with and that's final. Thoughts?

Been trying to get rid of the second one for a long time. The only reason I've been using it was because of the haste, but this is literally my worst item currently.

The only time discount codes were given to a larger pool of players was last Christmas. So, if you aren't in a hurry you may wanna wait till then before you burn your coins.

For now, I would strongly suggest that you exchange your Shard of the Crystal Heart for a Talisman of Resurgence. This you can easily do without spending any coins. It is available on Icecrown for just 50 Emblems of Triumph. This gives you an additional healing CD that is much stronger than your current haste trinket, in addition to the intellect boosting your mana pool and regen instead of having nigh useless hit rating.

I would definitely encourage you, as others have, to wait and see if there are any discounts for Christmas this year. (There isn't any guarantee of it happening, of course.) The latest two of the trinkets you've listed that you would be interested in getting would be my recommendations. The Abacus and GTS will naturally be the ones you want to get if you can. Solace may be more useful for you if you are on the lesser end of gear, because it can be pretty strong regen. BUT, while it's worked great for me, I don't think I would replace Purified Lunar Dust or Talisman of Resurgence with it. The difference just wouldn't be worth the coins to me (Purified Lunar Dust is really competitive with Solace, and the CD on Talisman is too useful). If you can't get the Abacus or GTS, then I would suggest checking out a different piece of gear instead - perhaps a Ruby Sanctum item or a normal Lich King weapon (or Trauma; it's a nice weapon).

Why not just farm 10k gold and buy 2 coins from trading, and then get your bis trinket?

Coin farming is always an option. Although, don't forget about the fee you have to pay as a seller.
