ENH Shaman Bug

This's a Correction Thread...

- I know that ENH shaman, like all melee classes, has some damage issues.

however, it can't be denied that enh shamans have some incredible healing output in 4.3.4.


IF this is a bug...
- Can anyone tell me what the cause is of enhancement shamans seeming to play like blood death knights (exaggeration), where the Heal/Damage scale is so far off? I'm looking into their bugs to make some thorough reports on that class.

Please explain the talents in depth that involve it's healing, so I can explain it to others.

I've been told that the healing stream at times heals for 1.5k every .5 seconds... tru?

It's every 2 seconds, not 0.5. Mine, given about 30 seconds of testing, looked to be giving about 1.7k every 2 seconds, maybe a little less.

The big heals during fights are the Greater Healing Waves from Maelstrom Weapon though. Mine heal for about 15k, 30k on crits, and they are instant and free whenever we have five stacks of Maelstrom Weapon, so if we get really lucky on our Maelstrom Weapon procs and crits we can get massive heals very quickly. We can also have bad luck though, and be long dead before we get the chance to use them. At the moment they are even limited slightly by a bug preventing us from getting Maelstrom Weapon stacks when our attacks get absorbed.

Granted I haven't spent much time on 4.3.4 to fully explore the bugs myself. Is there anything in particular that seems off, or were people likely just having some good luck on their Maelstrom Weapon procs? I'm happy to help investigate the bugs surrounding Enhancement if you're suspicious about any particular aspects of it.

Yea I mean... They just seem to have an incredible healing power compared to 4.0.... They're in the same boat of self-healing as Ret's were in 4.0.

I myself don't understand the class nearly well enough to diagnose it, but there's several people noticing something wrong with their survivability. My teammates have preferred chasing a hunter as Melee than going onto the shaman.

-just test all survivability aspects... That's all I can ask.

well, compared to 4.0, we now gain maelstrom stacks from fully absorbed hits, because in the past playing against a priest was a nightmare. Those damn absorb shield (yeah, you can purge them, but since priests have a sh*tload of buffs it sometimes takes you more than 6 purges to get to the shield)

on the other hand, we have to scarifice some healing due to the nerfing of windshear (i really liked the +30% heals after shocks, helped me keep my pally partner alive)

but aside from more frequent maelstrom procs i dont think we gain a lot of self healing with the transition from 4.0.6-4.3.4, could be wrong though, haven't been playing a lot lately.



also, does anyone know if maelstrom is still bugged? i know i lost around 4 arena matches because my 5stack of MW didnt remove the mana cost so i couldnt heal myself.

Imho the bug is on mental quickness.

Mental Quickness has been redesigned. Instead of granting the shaman spell power, Mental Quickness now causes Enhancement shaman spells to behave as though the shaman has spell power equal to 55% of attack power. Enhancement shaman spells no longer benefit from spell power from other sources.

Probably enha sham spells benefit from spell power,on my sham i heal myself for 30/32 k crit,in pvp u can be immortal more than a blooddk.

Wtf are you crying about? Maelstrom weapon proc chance is bugged and you gain a stack every 30 sec and still u are QQ. The heals are alright, as in 4.3 all heals crit with a multiplier of 200% instead of 150% like it was on 4.0.6. If enha shams aren't globalled in 1 gbc that means there is a bug? I'm sorry next time I meet you in bgs or arena i'm staying still without doing anything:D.
And for the others that say u are immotal like a bdk... Are u sure you're playing the right spec?
Ps: and Hunters like ur teammate have a more gamebreaking bug, but everybody seems ignorig it, it's funny to spam 50 arcane shots without even taking a steady shot!;). W Blessing of might!!!

PPS: Enha sham selfheals are boosted by 21% thanks to the talent spark of life of the restoration tree, so if a ghealing wave crits will do about 30-40k healing.

Man idk if heals r really bugged or not...i suppose only that bugged part can be the change of Mental quickness.
My mate is a mage not hunter :| And with my hunter i play with a restoration druid...so..what r u talking about?
If u'r sure about Hunter bug,post it in bugtracker or in hunter section...the bug of other class is not a good reason to justify another bug.

It wasn't for you but for Juggertank, the heals are alright, Mental quickness is working correctly and easy to test, watch ur attack power, spell power should be 55% of that number. As i said 4.3 heals crit for 200%!!!!
And the bug of hunter is already known, blessing of might increases focus regen while it shouldn't.
I didn't justify anythig simply because there isn't any bug in enha shaman heals, I simply hate the fact that people here thinks that enha should be oneshotted in 2 globals, if this doesn't happen, they open a thread without a minimal evidence or proof that something is bugged.

well then, why is there such a difference between 4.0 and 4.3.4?

I don't think our survivability has anything particularly wrong with it, but I haven't done any solid testing of it either. I think what you're seeing is a combination of bugs lowering most classes damage, and our heals being roughly where they are meant to be, and perhaps a tad bit of luck on the Shamans part.

The one potential bug that I could see being significant for this is Maelstrom Weapon not being used up on a heal. I am not actually sure if this still happens or not, or if it only happens with lightning bolts, but at least prior to the patch there were times when you could use an ability instantly via Maelstrom Weapon without using the proc, thus getting an extra instant cast. This was a pretty rare occurrence though, and certainly not something you would see regularly. Unfortunately it is rare enough, and seemingly random enough, that it's difficult to find out what actually causes it, so I'm not sure how to properly test it.

That damn bug got me killed so many times. I'm not sure if it still exists in 4.3.4 though, I will have to look into that when I get the chance.

Ufff maybe I should try with caps... Heals in 4.3 crit with a multiplier of 200% so for example if u heal for 15k and you crit you will get a 30k heal, instead of a 22,5k you would have get in 4.0.6. Then there is mental quickness that was boosted by 5%(more sp), 10% more ap from unleashed rage (thanks to mental quickness more ap= more sp).
Then greater healing wave is the most powerful shaman heal, with a 3 sec cast time, used only with 4 or 5 stack of maelstrom weapon. These 12-14k of healing are increased by 21% thanks to spark of life, only when selfhealing.
There you are, and if u find that killing an enha sham is more difficult than kill a bdk, sorry but you're are doing all wrong, with whatever class u play.
