Question about Specs and Gear

I am leveling my shammy up as Ele/Resto at the moment and I am thoroughly enjoying the flexibility that it offers for dungeons and being able to use the same gear.

However, as a old school enhancement shammy, I will most likely go enhancement once I get geared up.

My question is rather simple. When I get 90 and start doing BGs, which spec is the most effective in Contender gear in PUGs?

I would rather not get 2-3 sets of Contenders gear and try them out as my play time is very limited. Is it easier to farm Honor with one spec over another (assuming ability with all three is equal)?

From my experience Enhance shami is very gear dependent. I did like zero dmg in Contender gear....

The most effective spec for bgs should be resto shami. I think healer are in general less gear dependent than damage dealer...

I think elemental shammy is bugged in bg, I have nice gear and do very little dmg.... 15k lightning bolt and 30-35k lava ..... seems very low compared to other clasees. But strange enough, in pve I go up to 150k with spells....

It's laughable right? I am always last in my guild rated BG, because our damage sucks so hard. 1.6s cast time for 15k..... Overall DPS would increase quite substantially if haste worked for Flame Shock, at least we could rely on Lava Surge procs, but we cannot atm.

So do you still run ele in PvP Kemii?

I only have a chance when lava burst gets to proc like 3-4 times in a row and do 30k x 4 ...... and I hardly take anyone under half of his life. The rest of time.... I only assist others... I'm changing to enhanchement now, I hope it does better dmg. If not, **** it. Abandon the saman and go hunter, lock or warrior.

These 4 classes are always topping the bg charts...
Im wondering if it was the same on retail.
