Battle Pets

Hey community, I hope you're all having a nice day.

I've understood that Sargeras was updated with Pet Battles, as I've heard all previously learned (obtained?) pets were wiped due to a "fresh start".

Is same thing going to happen to Frostwolf? When is it planned for Frostwolf to receive updates for Pet Battles? And for my personal curiosity, does having pets in your bag (not learned) mean I can save them from this "fresh start" / wipe?

Companion pets on Sargeras were not wiped, they will be converted at some point to non combat pets.
The script for this process is undergoing testing and will hopefully be ready before the pet battle system arrives on Frostwolf.

Any companion items currently in your inventory that are used after the update will be converted to battle pets.

In addition to what Skybro said, we are working on improving the current pet battle system further to account for stability and safety concerns. The completion of that and pet conversion will signal the right time to release pet battles on FW.

Rest assured we are working hard to get it done as soon as possible.

marketplace will be updated with new pets after u guys release battle pets on frostwolf?we need new pets , not old ones that can be obtained in cata or wotlk :D

I don't get it... so basically, the current pets I own will NOT be Battle Pets?

I bought a few pets in PREPARATION for this to come, so I've just basically screwed myself?

The pets that I own CURRENTLY, if they're to turn into Non-Combat Pets, will there be a time in the future that they're converted BACK to Combat Pets?

I'd understand if there's a grace period in not being able to use current obtained pets so we start from the beginning, but if this is a permanent decision I think I speak for a lot of people that this will make quite the kerfuffle. ':x

The current information given is great, however sadly unfortunate to us early collectors.. could you please shed some sort of hope to us?

Any pets you currently have will still show in the pet journal but will be given no stats and you won't be able to place them in a loadout slot.

Currently there are no plans to convert any non combat pets back to battle pets, this may change in the future but I wouldn't bank on it too much.

Great!!

I have a couple of questions if you dont mind.

If we reacquire pets and (re?) learn them after the update, they will be converted to battle pets? I'm thinking vendor pets that we already may have in the collection, but can be re acquired

Also, will you guys put pets back in the market?

hey guys, so the update is here but i have a little problem. the game says that i've learned pet battle training, and i have bought pets even after the update, but all the slots are still locked for me and it tells me to visit a pet battle trainer.
this isnt so much of a problem for me since i'm more into pvp, but i'd like to get in on the action :D

anyone who's had this issue can guide me a bit? thanks!

So you can't learn the skill from the trainer? I've had that problem on two of my alts, fortunately my 3rd alt could learn the skill from the trainer. After that previous ones received the skill too. If you have any extra characters I suggest you trying it out on them too. Good luck.

No problem buddy, I'm already having a blast with friends trying to capture all kinds of pets. I would like to thank staff too, there are few bugs/issues but you can still have a plenty of fun. It's a good way to break monotony and maybe visit those old low level areas that you forgot about.
