Guild Rank Permissions don't work as intended?

So i made a new rank and gave it permissions to kick/promote/demote members of lower ranks. I checked that the new rank is higher so normally, having this rank should allow you to promote/demote/kick lower tier members. However it doesn't work, it only allows to do this to the lowest rank but not to the in-between ranks.

All other permissions work (edit notes, edit guild messages, bank permissions, etc). Only those 3 specific options seem to ignore my setting.

Is this a bug? Or am i missing something?

Anyone? I sent a ticket yesterday and still no response.

Bump, remade the ranks, settings are still ignored. I'm not sure if it's a bug or it works as intended, or if i'm doing something wrong.

Got an automated ticket response that proposed me to search the bugtracker but there is no mention about this.


Let me explain the behavior and maybe you can help:

I have 5 ranks in my guild

from highest to lowest:

GM
Officer
Officer Alt
Knight
Member
Recruit


GM/Officer/Officer Alt have the same permissions, that is FULL permissions. They should be able to kick/promote/demote any rank below them. HOWEVER, the "Officer Alt" rank cannot promote/demote anyone and it can only kick a "recruit". There is absolutely no control over Members and Knights, despite choosing so in the settings.

Then i made a new "test" rank which is below "recruit". When i did that, the "Officer Alt" could suddenly promote/demote recruits only. But still, no control over Members or Knights. Made a few other ranks below these but still, no control over Member and Knight. Once i deleted all the test ranks, Officer Alt can't promote a recruit once again.

Its obviously bugged. I asked another GM from a different guild and he said that they have more than 2 ranks that can kick/demote/promote apart from GM and Officer. In my guild i can only have 2... :(



EDIT: I found a temporary fix. I created a Test Rank between Officer Alt and Knight as a "buffer zone" with no permissions (as no player is ever going to get this rank anyway). This way the Officer Alt can now control Knights Members and Recruits as intended. But it cannot control the new test rank or promote anyone to it (which isn't a problem, its supposed to be a buffer). So, there is obviously something wrong with the Ranks, if GMs have to figure out weird fixes like that in order for the permissions to actually work...

So for the "officer Alt" to actually work, the guild ranks are like this:

I've noticed there are, in fact, some guild permission issues. I'm not quite sure how to fix them.

I've read somewhere that closing the guild tab immediately after making a change, or logging out after the change may yield possitive results, but I have not confirmed this myself.

There are a couple fine points to the guild permissions
Yes you can only kick/promote/demote ranks of a lower "tier" than the person trying to make the change.
You cannot promote a rank such that it becomes the SAME or HIGHER rank than the rank of the person trying to make the change. E.G An "Officer Alt" cannot promote a "Knight" to become "Officer Alt".
Likewise, you cannot demote a player of the same rank as the person trying to make the change. E.g An "Officer" cannot demote another "Officer" down to "Officer Alt"

As long as your Officers are able to control your Recruits/Members/Knights then there is no reason to change your ranks further. If an officer needs to enact a change, then they can simply log onto their main and do whatever disciplinary action needed.

In fact, there is no real need for the "Officer Alt" rank to need any privileged permissions, the only reason for such a rank to exist is so that your guild-members can easily identify if there is an officer online or not, for purposes such as asking questions or reporting problems to.
