I was really hoping to get something like the Deathcharger's Reins but I discovered the Stratholme instance is closed on the MoP server Frostwolf. Besides the coinshop, where would I be able to pick up an item like that ingame?

When it gets opened (if it will ever happen).
But till then, only Coin Shop is the only option.
