yes your character(s) will be wiped when realm goes live
Why would you expect to keep your characters on a PTR?

Also I find it very good practice, by playing on Lordaeron I have already managed to determent the best and fastest possible way to level up by getting familiar with the zones, the xp quest rewards, which quests that are worth doing and who isnt and how to organize and do them most effectively, preparations for each zone, strength of grinding areas etc etc. So when Lordaeron does go live I will remember all this and thus level up really fast and effective.
But thats just me.
