New and got some questions

Hello everyone :) I've recently decided to get into wotlk private servers again after a very long hiatus (like 5+ years), my experience in wow only comes from playing on molten wow, and i mainly loved doing raids for the lore and Alterac valley for 40 man pvp goodness as well as other BGs.

There are a few criteria i must consider before dedicating my time to the server.

These questions are all deal breakers for me (except maybe #7):
1. Is the talent system the same as the latest wotlk patch (none of the specialization nonsense of cataclysm and later)??
2. How Blizzlike is warmane (in terms of skill values, drop rates, gear stats, raid scripting, experience modifiers)??
3. How many players are currently still playing??, and especially in bgs and pve (both open world and raids)??, last thing i want i joining a dying/dead server.
4. How bad is the p2w aspect (if exists at all)??
5. I love doing dungeons for the lore, however it can be hard to do that when everyone is rushing ICC raids and leaving all others gathering dust, how prevalent is that aspect??
6. How functional are battlegrounds??, which ones don't work??
7. Are there any particular classes or class skills or npc behaviors that are just simply broken?

Anybody???

1)It is wotlk talents, not the cata crap
2)I think drop rates on blues and lower are like x5 or such. professions are x5, exp is either x1 or x7 atm, gear stats and raid scripts and stuff are blizzlike, with scripts obv not being 100% as on retail currently, but working towards it.
3)plenty players, like 3.2k online on both deathwing and ragnaros, active bg and arena queues, and pve is also very active, atleast on Ragnaros alliance side where you see pugs in global 24/7.
4)many noobs and braindeads will always use p2w to blame when they lose arenas etc, but all equips are available in game so there are no items donators can get that a regular player cant. shadowmourne would be the toughest to get in game since its a drop from LK25hc and halion25hc, altho there are ways for non donors to get coins. I had several bis chars premoltdown that I had not donated a single item on, and still do.
5)Not too sure what to write here, ppl are doing hc dungeons actively atleast, and Ive done pretty much all raids, both new and old so there are ppl for everything.
6)all battlegrounds are up and running, some vehicle bugs in sota and ioc exists afaik if they havent been fixed yet, like double clicking vehice too many times can cause u to be bugged inside of it. never happened to me personally tho, but thats what others have said.
7)classes are working mostly, fixes are coming up every now and then to make it even less buggy.

I have been playing here (Molten) since 2011 and I think its definately worth playing here, best server Ive ever played on, and its getting rapidly better since merging with AT to form Warmane.

Last time I was playing molten wow there were skills not working like life/mana drain, npcs could chase me through walls and in the air, they hardly used any skills, and many items and quests weren't working at all.

ICC raids werent yet added, Argent tournament wasn't working, and ulduar was a buggy mess.

Has any of the above been improved or fixed?? (been 5 years)

First of all about bgs- Wintergrasp still not working. And AV is not scripted and probably wont be.
ICC got some tweaks but there is still bugs mostly around Valithria and Lich.
Ulduar is still buggy but we are hopping that they will work on this for Lordaeron realm and later implement those fixes on the rest of the wotlk realms.

Two last questions, have loot tables been tampered with in any wotlk raids??, and which pvp season gear is currently available and for what currencies??

afaik the only change to any loot tables are the addition of smourne to LK25hc and halion25hc because it's ingame quest is broken.

By what you are listing I'd say kill time on one of the WoTLK realms currently available, but don't invest your near life to it. But once Lordaeron is released you will be in for a very nice treat and will not regret dedicating all of your free time to it.

1.) Like it was answered earlier, it's the 3.3.5 patch, which doesn't include those Cataclysm additions.
2.) It's actually getting really close to Blizzlike. They're working on fixing bugs and whatnot, but some major ones are still present. Though there is nothing you couldn't handle. Instead of doing a specific raid boss X way, you do it Y way, it just happens to be a different approach. Keep in mind that a year ago, Warmane was pretty far from retail when it came to class damage inside ICC (buffs were stacking that shouldn't be, and so on), but now it's getting evened out.
3.) Well, there's 3,000+ players online on each of the WotLK servers (Deathwing and Ragnaros), so you can't say there aren't enough people. However, I never had difficulties joining a BG or Raid for that matter. There's also some guilds around that focus on either one of that, which makes it simpler.
4.) If by p2w you mean "pay-to-win", I'd say that you can't really notice it much. The only thing there is that there's some people running around with gear they probably wouldn't have earned it for a long time. Though people like that stand out when it comes to "skill", so it doesn't mean any big change really. There is no custom gear here, and the only thing that is available only through donations are specific mounts. Okay, and Shadowmourne, since the quest can't be completed (they removed the quest because some people found an exploit through it) - but, Shadowmourne can also drop from Lich King 25 Heroic and Halion 25 Heroic (even if the chance is extremely low), so you can't say that you can't get it without donating.
5.) Well, the level 80 dungeons have no problems being completed really (except for 4 of them that are kind of bugged - those would be Utgarde Pinnacle (3rd boss goes into infinite loop and doesn't land - was working 2 months ago though), Culling of Stratholme (Arthas can bug out and the dungeon cannot start properly once inside the city), similar for The Oculus, and last one is Trial of the Crusade (which only doesn't give you Emblem of Frost if you use Random Dungeon Finder)), people do them on a daily basis. However, you'd best be using /global chat to get the group going, as waiting in the queue in RDF usually won't happen - people rather group up on their own with their standards. As for dungeons below level 80, well, the rates on Deathwing and Ragnaros are higher than on retail, so there's really not much of a point doing them, so people tend to skip them - however, you'll get some people that just wanna do the dungeons regardless of that fact, so you keep an eye on /trade or /global channel for people who ask for those specific dungeons.
6.) Normally they work, but you'll notice occasional bugs like Strand of the Ancients demolishers have a bug that if you're on a passenger seat and attacking enemies, you gain like a 100% damage increase.
7.) Most things work, but there are still some bugs needing fixes - but most of the bugs are being worked on and fixed over time. The only two classes for PvE that come to mind that are "broken" are Assassination Rogues and Enhancement Shamans. Any other class pretty much works.

As a retail player myself, I loved WotLK expansion and when I came here a few years ago, I was aghast about all the bugs here and it took me a long time to get used to the fact that it's simply not retail anymore. However, most of these bugs were quite nicely fixed and I can say that I'm happy to be here. Warmane made the server really presentable and enjoyable, even if it's not working 100% the way you'd want it to.
