Questions that others may have as well

Hello Lordareon future players :)

Although i've played WOW for some time now (never on retail), im used to play on realms that have higher rates than Lord will have (3x, 7x, 20x, you name it). With the excitement of making part of a realm that promisses to be an amazing, blizz-like realm, also comes the feeling of noobness, since i've never played with original rates.

With that in mind, i have questions about leveling to make, some of them quite stupid, but others may also ask that themselves. These questions are:

1 - If you decide to play a Hybird character (in my case, a priest) with the objective to roll two different specs (again, in my case, shadow and holy) should you level as dps and then, when you get enough money to buy the second talent tree page, get the tank/heal spec going, or should you level using your tank/heal spec from the beginning?
PS: im thinking on the PVE side, but also believe it works for PVP as well.

2 - Leveling the primary professions. Is it a good idea to take some time from questing to do professions? Not necessarly all of them, just the two primaries.

3 - Is it also a good idea to make dungeons during the leveling? i dont know exactly the difference on XP by questing and doing dungeons, but i know some quests inside it gives some quite nice items, aside the dungeon bosses.

1. So if your rolling a priest you should lvl as a hybrid spec until lvl 40 because thats when you get shadowform. Smite is your main damage ability until lvl 20 and to make it better you will have to go in to the Holy tree i belive. Anyway Healing in dunegons until lvl 40 with a shadow spec should not be a problem.

2. That is up to you. If you wanna rush to max lvl then you dont touch proffesions unless your going to lvl Skinning.

3. Dunegons is a very good and fast way to lvl if you have a decent guild to run it with. Pug groups takes longer time to form and sometimes dont even manage to finnish the dunegon or it will take hours to complete it.

1. Obviously more damage (or less damage taken ie BM Hunter, Prot Warrior, Demo Lock etc) will make it easier to kill mobs.

2. Do what you feel can be done at that particular moment. Try to avoid backtracking later (Leveling up to 80 and then having to run through every single zone to find all those Mine veils again).

3. Yes Dungeons are good. They get you some nice gear that makes leveling easier, gives a good amount of cheap and fast XP, and usually has quests you can complete for an increased amount of XP. In short, do Dungeons when possible (or necessary.

All I want to say is, I think you'll find out the answers yourself if you're being reasonable.

One last thing: maybe i expressed myself wrong, so im rephrasing it: if i decide that my Marin roll will be to heal, should i put my talent point already in holy tree, or should i level as dps and when i get the second talent page, make it holy? If i were tô do dungeons, can i heal using shadow talents?

1. Tank specs are the easiest to level with, since you can deal moderate damage, but you will have a much greater up-time than a DPS spec due to your ability to handle more incoming damage. Healing specs are the most painful to level with unless you are constantly with a group and/or doing dungeons.

2. Depending on the professions, you can benefit from them while you level, both in terms of useful items and gold. However, at the same time, it is time consuming. If you're wanting to reach max level as fast as possible, you may want to pass up working on your professions. If you're in no rush, then by all means, go for it.

3. What the above two said. If the group you're with can handle the dungeon you're trying to do, it is often a good source of gear, and will be an excellent source of experience if you and your group are at the appropriate level for the dungeon.

I'd recommend leveling as Shadow unless you're going to have a group with you 100% of the time. Shadow is capable of healing dungeons a decent amount up to a certain level threshold, which is where it will become too difficult to heal without proper healing talents. However, by the point that happens, you'll probably be high enough level to purchase dual-spec.
