How is warlock?

Hey everyone, looking for some input from people playing warlock on wotlk servers (considering rolling one for Lordaeron)
Any sort of feedback you consider valuable id apreciate it, interested only in pve side of things.
Are pets bugged, do they work properly? Any major class bugs affecting warlocks? (is haste still bugged affecting in a positive way affliction?)
Are warlocks able to compete on dps charts with mages/hunters/spriests on similar gear level?
(would be interested both medium geared like ulduar ilvl, and than icc level, bis is not really relevant as im interested more in progression)

Finally your personal opinion would you reccomend rolling one as main for the new wotlk realm?:)

Depends on what role you want to be in a raid,Warlock is a utility dps, dont expect to top the dps charts but expect to be invited in raids on daily basis,they are very hard to find,and from my personal opinion this is the hardest class to play with,as for hunter this is a pure dps class and very easy to play with and deals more damage than warlock ofc and overall its a pretty safe choice,but expect to fight for your place in a raid,there will be alot of hunters once lord will be released.
Either way play what you like the most,the whole reason you play this game is to have fun,

PS:Warlock is more gear dependent than hunter is,

Warlocks are an incredibly strong and versatile class when in comes to PvE.. and PvP. On the PvE side of things, every good raid needs a demonology warlock for their amazing demonic pact spell power buff. Demonology can perform high level dps while also buffing the entire raid. However if you already have a demo lock in your raid and wish to compete with the mages/hunters/paladins you can always roll affliction or the destro/demo hybrid spec. For lower gear levels, the destruction spec also performs very well.
Additionally warlocks bring summoning portals (which are always helpful especially when the realm starts and everyone only has the 150% speed mount) and soul stones (which are a godsend when the realm is new and everyone is under-geared and progressing through raids).

I can't really say much about the bugs as I believe Lordaeron will have a different core to Ragnaros/Deathwing. So just expect everything to be working or quickly fixed. Besides the only bugs I can think of are the nightfall bug (which consumes the nightfall buff if it procs while casting shadowbolt) and our demons dying to certain AoE abilities which they shouldn't. Rolling corruption is fixed and pet damage/scaling seems to be working.

I plan on rolling a paladin when Lordaeron is released (because it's the only class I haven't mained plus tanks and healers will be sought after) but if I weren't I would 100% roll with a warlock.

I would like to know just HOW good they are in PvP? I think I remember them being pretty good as affliction in arenas. How are they for 1v1's? And can they be good for damage whoring in bg's?

In my opinion they are one of the best PvP classes. Destruction has incredible burst damage + crowd control, extremely good in arena as double dps or dps + heals and also does well in 1v1s. Affliction has strong DoT damage + excellent crowd control too, very good in arena with a healer, big battleground damage whore and is one of, if not the best, 1v1 specs out there.

Note most of these screen shots are very old and were during the time I was learning to play warlock.

Warlock is fun overall, depends if you want to pvp duels /2s go with destro lock , affliction or demonology for raiding, affliction does more dmg but demonology offers the spell buff everyone needs.
