Tips for a new player leveling ( I'm hurting over here )

Currently a level 15 Human Mage in Redridge Mountains.

I have done all the quest in Westfall and Loch Modan yet here I am dieing to 1 mob because its level 18 and I'm level 15, how do I catch up? This is becoming extremely difficult but I don't want to just quit, any help is much appreciated!

Things that would be awesome to know:

- Where should I go at what level Ex: Elwynn 1-10
- When should I dedicate some time to grouping for dungeons
- How long should I expect to be leveling on a server such as this before I can reach the end game goodies

Other than that, group when you want or when you need XP or have quests in dungeons or need gear. That's for you to decide.

I've heard it takes a couple weeks to hit 80, but for people like me who work full time and have other obligations, it'll probably take a lot longer. Been leveling a rogue for 2 weeks now and he's not even 40 yet...

Honestly, that question is probably answered better in the 2-page thread just a few below yours. :P

there is no way youve completed every quest in westfall yet.

Go to Darkshore. It' a very good zone to cheese 4-5 levels, then go to Ashenvale at level 18, do as many quests as you can then move on to Duskwood and Redridge.

Both dwarves and humans finish Loch Modan and Westfall before hitting 20,when they should head to Wetlands(20-30) and Redridge+Duskwood for humans. I strongly recommend you to do dungeons,such as Deadmines, Shadowfang Keep, Walling Caverns. These dungeons will get you gear and exp.

The first 25-30 levels are often the hardest and most frustrating. I see no reason not to help him, because I know most people don't ever visit the forums, so when someone does, it must be pretty bad. I know at least 2 other people that left because the leveling was too frustrating and slow and couldn't find a good way to continue playing. If I could prevent at least one player from leaving because of leveling, then why wouldn't I?

You have never heard the saying that you quoted, I guess.

I think you're assuming that I was ragging on you for helping him. I wasn't. In fact, I'm the first reply in this thread, so that would be awfully hypocritical of me, no?

I was obtusely saying that it is MORE helpful to teach him how to find answers for himself. That way, when he finishes Redridge and doesn't know where to go next, he doesn't have to come BACK to the forums for help. :P

You helped him out for a day or so. I tried to help him out for the remainder of his leveling experience.

Alternatively: level in the Draenei/Blood Elf starting area, they were much better designed as far as quest quantity and location of quests go. You can be level 20 before leaving them.
