10k is already absurdly high. The queue at peak times is already 1k. I've yet to see a realm with higher pop. You're crazy. :|
Just give it a week or 2 and alot of people will quit the lordaeron realm which will result in lower queues.

I don't know the standard retail realm population but 10k is high enough. The only problem is the queue and I don't think they'll create another realm just for this.
