Curently in the process of leveling my warlock as destruction, like you have indicated, destruction may not be the 'best' leveling spec - however it is very fun!
I already know the spec I will be using at level 80, so this entire time whilst leveling, I have simply been using talent points to make that spec:

This is anything but a good leveling spec. If you truly intend on leveling as destruction, consider using talent points in Cataclysm & Improved Soul Leech.
Other than that, it remains the usual Void for solo questing and Imp for instances.
