My pet is not getting any xp from mobs

Hello guys. I'm kinda worried because my pet is not getting any xp from mobs.
I try to keep it always happy, and in defensive mode, and well fed, I don't know what's going on, if something is missing, tell me please.
I'm an Alliance Hunter level 48 atm.
I'm Varusop.

You got to kill mobs close to your level(maximum 5 levels below your own) for it to get any xp.

so bud, If I'm 50 atm, I've got to kill mobs from 45 to 50 for my pet get xp?

Yep,but you can kill yellow and red (up to 8 levels above you as well).

But I don't understand, because I'm 49, and I'm killing mobs with 50, 52 lvl and the pet don't get xp '-'

Yeah, I leveled up now to 50 and the pet is getting xp from the mobs., so means that every time that the pet levels up, I need to level up aswell for him to get xp.

Yeah, basically your pet level CANNOT exceed your own level. Keep it well fed and you should be good. Good luck leveling. Also, always keep your armor repaired. While leveling and dying to mobs people sometimes forget that. If your bow is RED you can't do any ranged attack.
