Economy after the merge

With the Deathwing & Ragnaros merge ahead of us some thoughts came to my mind. One of them is the economy. Do you guys think AH prices will go down or up? There are going to be more people on the new realm, which means higher demand for stuff, which by itself means prices will probably go down. But on the other hand there is going to be more gold in total in the realm, which may increase the prices. For example primos and cardinals, do you think it will be more profitable to sell them now or to save them for the new realm?
Also do you think there is going to be a gold limit per character when we transfer to the new realm?

I think prices gonna go up for a while, then going to get stable. I Heard there will be limited gold with the transfered character so. I gotta xfer really alot gold into Primos/Boes. and people gonna decide the price of those in the new realm.

Limited gold when transfer? Where you heard that? Any staff can confirm this? I thought since both realm are 7x, there really should not be much gap in economy.

theoretically makes sense, both realms being x7 and all, but let's give a random almost useless item as an example... lvl 70 ilvl 115 epic BoE... on DW it might be worth 5k while on Rag it could be worth 10k or vice versa depending on the twinking activity

supply and demand is the name of the game

I think you're wrong here, with general server transfers yes they usually limit the amount of gold you can take with you, but with a server merg, i would so na na. They're combining server pops so i'm betting they're gonna let you take everything with you as they should. It wouldn't make since for them to limit your gold, at least not for any reason that i can think of.

I wouldn't believe this until i see a citation from a mod and neither should you.

Also the prices are going to stay the same for the first I would say 2 weeks.. and than go up. They will go up because more people will be farming nodes that don't have retail like re-spawn(unless new core fixes that). But yeah farming will become harder with higher population so farm now...and bank after the merge!

Just pretend you're a 16yr old girl at the mall, it goes fast.
Or invest in BOEs, there's always the chance of gaining lots of new people/characters after the merge. Plus the drop rates aren't high enough to hurt your investment. It's actually a relatively safe investment, at least when compared to most items.

I just wish I knew how much gold we will be able to transfer with, per character.

They'll probably announce that when we get closer to the merge date.

hey did they decide the merged name yet ?

I have been playing on Ragnaros for a while (kinda sad if Ragnaros loses its awesome name T_T)
both Ragnaros and Deathwing have kinda "Cataclysm"-like name

may be we should name the merged server as ...
- the Molten Core
- or maybe the "Molt-down" lolz
- or the "Flame Thrower"
- seriously the "Destroyer"

just kidding ... ^_^

The almighty market rules of supply and demand will do that job. It's simple, the moment nobody's willing to offer a certain amount for a certain item, that item's price is gonna lower and turn into a bearish market, until the selling and buying forces of the market will give that price a balanced equilibrium.

Look at the boes at ragnaros. belt from dbs25n boe one. its like 10-15k. Also saw the plate wrist for 10-12k from bpc. rofl. ill fill my bags with alot of those.

Can't wait for this merge .
