And what about the patcher? I need to be logged in to download it? Is it even needed? I got the 3.3.5a old wotlk client fron warmane website without the b patch and rogue seems to resist 100% of spells except chains of ice while in cloak.
So...

no, the 3.3.5b game version is only to read the correct tooltip of updated spell.
whatever game version you use to play it does not matter.
