The Quest in Zul'drak is bugged for me, the servant wont follow me or anything after I use the Scepter provided in the quest, i'm not sure if there is a fix or if I should just abandon the quest line?

Well, I would suggest making in game ticket to GM, maybe they are able to assist you on bugged quest, but you can also report bugs here.
