I just wanna put my 2 cents out there.

So i've been sitting on this thought of a very long long.....long time and it's taken me a good bit of effort to come up with the right words and the best way to try and get my point across, but here goes nothing.

First I'd like to say that Lordaeron is an amazing server! It really is fun and great population and even a really cool community on both factions. To you Warmane I say hats off to you. Great job and thank you from the bottom of my heart for giving us a true Blizz-like experience.

But on that note I'd like to ask; is this really Blizz-like? Coding, questing, factions, etc I'd have to say absolutely, but it's missing something and that's where I've been sitting the most and with Lordaeron right now it feels (and this is just me okay, i only speak for myself) the BIG direction that Warmane is trying to go in is very unclear. I mean sure, sooner or later they'll release ICC, The last boss of VoA, and then RS and then what? Where do players go from there? How long can we be expected to continue running 3.3 with nothing else to come down the line?

Well this is where I'd like to my my suggestion very clear and hope I can either get some clarity from the Mods or maybe make a big enough impression with my post that there could be something like i'm about to suggest put into motion and give players a true Blizz-like experience.

So I was thinking the other day about WoTLK Retail (2008/2009) and there are certain things that I feel Warmane might not ever be able to copy and bring back to old players like myself, but maybe there is something they can do to help new WoW players truly understand what WoW was like back in the day and what truly helped made it so awesome and to me that was time.

Now here on Lordaeron it feels like our time will always be unlimited one way or another and to me it seems like this halts players and makes them feel (just from my perspective) that there is always going to be this unlimited amount of time to get things done, IE: "I don't need to level my main today because Naxx will be there a month from now, 2 months, etc... what's my hurry"? Now I don't know if this is just my impression and I feel open minded enough to hear the communities thoughts on the matter, so please please, feel free to leave your feedback down below.

This is where I'd like to make a huge and powerful suggestion to the staff and community of Warmane and please try and here me out; So what I'd love to suggest is with the FW/DW Merger after the final release of content and all is fixed on Lordaeron, reset the servers. :D

Now before you flip out on me, just hear me out.

I feel players could truly get into playing on both WoTLK servers if they knew for sure what was going on and when things were going to come and I'd love to suggestion using the official release dates Blizzard used for their WoTLK patches. So basically WoTLK went live Nov 14, 2008 so Warmane would reset the servers and anyone below 80 will keep their exact same levels and everything, but on on Nov 14 2016 (or whatever year) ALL level 80's will have their gear removed and given points to buy some starter gear off the point shop and will be given the full chance to do all over again.

If i remember correctly WoTLK lasted around 2yrs (correct me if i'm wrong), but to continue on down the raod players would resume running heroics in blues again, gearing up, and all endgame achievements reset and then X months down the road and a mirrored release date for 3.1 April 15 2009th (April 15th 2017 Warmane Time) will happen and secrets of Uldaur will be released and then ToC and then Onyxia, and then ICC and then around Nov 14 2018 the servers get reset and players do it all over again and again and again....

I feel this would be a great way from keeping the game from getting stale and would encourage old players to come back and also help encourage players to press forward into endgame and make sure they get things done in a timely manor as their time will truly be limited or they'll have to wait out another year or two for the server to reset back to 3.0.

So what do you guys think? Would this be a truly awesome Blizz-like experience? Could Warmane pull it off? Are their any forseeable downsides and if so what are they?

Best way to deal the said problem would be merging all 3.3.5 realms including lordaeron together and restart lordaeron with a new name at naxx content again. This might be done 1-2 years after last content of wotlk was released.

I would like to add that this server is not about being blizzlike. Non of the endcontent is what it was used to be, so we have to differ.

Why TF would they reset their servers next november? By that time, MAYBE TOC would be on it's way.... They just BARELY started this realm with WOTLK content in like. November. Naxx wasn't even released until 1.5-2 months ago. Why would you already be talking about resetting the servers? ICC content and RS are at least a year and a half away.

You took the dates too literally. He suggested the CONCEPT of restarting things over once it gets into a stale, and the dates were simply an example... Dude suggested an interesting idea to renew content, no need to bash the first thing you could find.

On topic, I actually agree with the idea, but I also know that it will not happen as the majority would not approve of resetting their characters when they put so much money/time into them (even though the servers would slowly die out and they would be left with nothing to do with those characters).

Exactly and thank you so much for the support and for understanding what i was trying to say and I would like to also suggest that yeah perhaps some (or a lot) of players would get upset with losing their gear (all though i'm not sure why....) I would hope they would at least try and understand that it is being done for the great good of the community and if need be, let those players that wish to keep their progression take a one time transfer over to Ragnaros and leave that server as it is, that which still seems silly to me, as players wouldn't ever really lose their toons, and gear is always replaced. I mean how do these same people feel about how things work in retail when every 2 year a new expansion pops out and retail players have to level again and gear up....again?

I know it's rude of me to ask players to not become to attached of their progression, but realistically that's what does happen in retail and that's just they way it should have to be in order to keep things fresh and new.

oh and I wanted you to clarify something for me if you got a moment, when you said "next November" do you mean 2016 or 2017? I'm thinking 2017 (don't remember what I typed in my OP but yeah). 2017 seems pretty fair to me, especially if they can get Icc out by this winter, that which means players would have around 12 months of icc and that's what we had in retail WoTLK, do players really need longer then a year to down a full raid tier?

How about if you and whoever else want a "reset" you just delete all your characters and start over yourself? As in, if it's stale for you, you start over, while leaving those who don't feel "stale" alone.

Do you honestly believe the population can be kept with nothing new coming out?

Let's pretend the 11k online is steadily kept through Naxx, through ToC, and then through ICC. Let's pretend everyone is super happy and enjoying the content, challenge and a blizzlike experience. Months pass by, ICC gets cleared, bg's get filled with wrathful characters and people start taking up fishing out of boredom. What happens next? Surprise, surprise, activity falls as people get bored. Yes, there will always be people leveling new characters, or enjoying the content over and over, but the rest will leave. I understand the solution mentioned here is quite drastic and extreme, yet it does address a future problem that Warmane might not want to think about as it is so far ahead.

Hmmm... maybe you are right. Maybe the population does not get bored and are so excited to be doing the ICC runs and bg's with the same people, that the population remained solid as a rock.

You mean when people started moving from there to play on Lordaeron because of the improved core and all the fixes?
Almost like they moved from one expansion... to the same expansion just better!

Debunking the nonsense aside, what I said in my first reply remains: if you're bored, delete all your characters and start over. Everyone who's bored can do that. You're no one to decide "what's best" and to try to force your "solutions" down the whole community's throat. Do what you want and let people do what they want. And guess what? If your "solution" is really what people want we'll have a massive deletion of characters so everyone can start over - it will happen naturally, without forced resets. But you don't see that happening, do you?

I'm gonna be blunt here, **** off. we don't need anything reset. if you get bored either play cata/mop or go start new on another server. leave the rest of us the **** alone.

You have to remember that this is not a server where you get the gear super fast. Think about the people that play on the 7x realms, they can get the best gear in just a few days, but they don't get tierd of it. Here you really have to work for the gear, and it will take a lot of raids and bgs to get the best gear. It will take a really long time before people won't be happy about the game. Also I think it is a great idea what warmane is doing to not release all of WOTLK at once, so people will farm one-two instances (10/25man) at a time on each character.

Think about the time spent on a server like this - to get the best gear at the end. Do you really think people just want reset that? I think resetting will just make a bigger loss then not resetting. Both ways will end up with some loss of population, but I think one of the ways will be more extreme then the other.

Stopped reading after "reset the servers". I offered a similar thing on Moltdown - not to give people character resets and free gear + gold, instead give the server a fresh start. I got booed and flamed.

Look at the butt hurt little kids here. Why is wrong with people around here? Is it something in the water? Are you all drinking the same kool-aid? Get over yourselves, you're not that entitled and seriously I doubt that there's a player posting here today that can think 2 years down the road save for Tomcile and myself. These are incredibly selfish naive people that really don't know any better. I seriously doubt most of these people will be here in 2 years and that's including myself, but I can think about the generations to come and it's going to be horrible seeing new players trying to play catch up when the rest of the server is decate out in full blow icc gear and/or full blown max pvp gear and it guess it's going to cause players to do the one thing Warmane truly wants (speculating here) and that's donate, donate, and donate so they can rake in the cash.

Sadly this gives me, a sincere player, a cold chill thinking about it as I really do care about this expansion, community and yes even the staff.
