Population.

The server is supposed to be full of players but I'm noticing something that I was hoping would not be the case but it sadly looks like is. Currently there are 5.7k players online according to the website yet I'm stuck in a 10 minute 2v2 queue which was restarted once. Even during the prime time I keep playing against the same 5,6 team 80% of the time and there seem no more than 2 battlegrounds going at a time.
What's happening? We're quite far into the release there should be a stable population of level 80's. I'd expect to have hundreds of players queued up for arena/bg at prime time not 20. Are people simply completely uninterested in pvp? Are the population numbers wrong? Do we still not have enough 80's yet? What's the problem.

from what I've heard a lot of the top pvpers in 2's have decided to quit due to how titles are being handled for season 1. apparently staff have told the top 2's teams they're thinking about only handing out titles to 3's teams and not 2's.

also; most teams are only playing their 10 games a week for points, and aren't really interesting in the competitive aspect. 3.3.5 talents with current gear are gonna do that.

Yea, there isnt many 80s toons yet, and more than a half of those 80s aint even interested in pvp at all. Atm pvp for melee classes at least is rly annoying with server lag delay and out of range spam, so thats also the case + some major arena bugs and pvp in general. Sums up, that arenas are kinda dead atm. It might change with new pvp season/tier gear. In 'soon' future.

Thats how it supposed to be from the very begining. Giving any rewards to 2s will result in 3s dead at all, forever here. Like it is happening around all Warmane xpacs.
Those pr0s from 2s, killing lows and newbs, why would they do 3s if they got the same rewards with less effort in 2s.

I have different problem, cant find healer with smilar gear as me or atleast 3k+ gs, spaming last few weeks, maybe even one month and nothing has change..only few guys whisper me to tell me that they have same problem with finding healer, so I decide to quite till wrathfull season release and I also hope they will fix some of plenty bugs reported at DK bugtracker section until then...

this ^^but I think more then half of 80s aint interested for arena at all..

It's not just arenas though. Battlegrounds as well. It seems there are no more than 2 MAYBE 3 running at prime time. You're telling me that out of roughly 11000 players online there's about what? 80-100 playing battlegrounds simultaneously? Seriously? Maybe you're right about there not being enough 80's but I'm not sure like... Heroic farming is dying out which would imply that there are far fewer new characters that need gear... So people aren't leveling new toons, there's not enough people for a stable pvp community at 80 and... what are people doing actually? If it wasn't for naxx 25 I'd be bored to death with this game already.

First of all Imo the most pure pvp players on private servers dont play on low rate realms.
Second. Wotlk was best expansion cause of its pve content and the lore.
I am a 50/50 player and if i wanted to just play pvp i would rather pick MoP expansion and a place that has all working pvp zones, arenas and BGs, instead of a place that focus on pve content mainly. If u dont see lordaeron priority fixes so far there is nothing more i can tell u. Have fun ;-)

Why would anyone care about PvP on a progression realm?!? If all those thousands of players who left are PvPers, then good riddance - I don't want them anyway.

But that's not the reason - as with everything, Lordaeron just lost hype as players ran the 80-race and then stood asking "now what?".

Because people care about competition?

all you need to do is look at the progression guilds right now. or lack there of.

im not saying its bad or good. im just saying there are several current factors affecting population.
