I want to start lvl my char and wonder which one. Want mostly pve healer and dps class alliance side. Which is more needed?

Never go "What class is needed", always play the class you really want to play and you can understand.
Good players of each class is always welcomed regardless of class popularity.

Is there really that few shamans? I've seen quite alot imo but might just be me..

Warlock for DPS, resto sham for heals.
