changing gold between horde and alliance

Is there a legal way to get gold that i have on my horde character to my alliance character on Ragnaros?

Neutral Auction House.

I think that you can do it with heirlooms aswell via mailbox. Not sure if this method works on WoTLK.

How exactly should it works with neutra Actionhouse?

Sell a cheap item with the amount you need, from the char that u need gold and buy it with the char that has gold from the opposite faction.
