Hello there, is it still like the old days ? if i donate i can pass queues ?? (considering playing Lordaeron again)

If you're playing on Lordaeron, you need to spend 5 coins on something on Lordaeron in order to trigger a month's worth of queue skipping.
This is bugged for me. I spent the money and I'm still waiting.
