Hello,
as you will be able to see, i'm not a DK player but i was wondering if i should make one. The main thing i wanted to ask, is how good is unholy dk in dealing with healers in general? Can u beat 1v1 a healer, that's equally geared as you are?
Another thing i wanted to ask, is how well do they do in world pvp and in comp with a disc priest himself?
For the last part, can they have a good dmg in pve aspects of the game?

dk can kill disco 1v1, but other heal classes just wont die. as for wpvp and arena - dk is so ****ing op if played properly.
disco/udk is kinda viable, but is just better to either pick spriest or hpaladin.
Unholy is seen by many (including Blizzard) as being too strong PvP-wise on WotLK and is considered the only PvP-viable spec for DKs on WotLK exactly because it's the only one capable of dealing with healers in any way. Not that it has healing reduction, no, but it's still better than a button-mashing Retadin who secretly hopes that the healer forgets to look at his HP or goes AFK in arenas, or that the stars align and he 100-0s a healer in HoJ with all cooldowns.
Unholy has pressure which Frost and Blood don't have. Frost can be quite sticky with Permafrost, but one Abolish Disease or a talented Cleanse and you're ****ed. Blood can't stick to its target in any way possible, so it's a no-no. As Unholy, you're permanently slowing your opponent with Desecration in addition to already having Chains of Ice and DG. Your diseases are locked from being dispelled and you have your ghoul which constantly slows spellcasts and can stun. And just to finish it all up, there's your gargoyle which when used correctly can put enough pressure to either force a powerful cooldown or land a kill.
For PvE - Unholy is viable and sought after for any 25-man raid. There is no other class in the game, which can provide the magic damage increase on multiple targets. Your warlocks will also love you because they can use other curses for higher DPS.

From your posts i see that you don't have much exp in warriors nor dk. Both classes if played Right are good, also keep in mind that warriors need more off-parts than dk. (namely 1h+ shield, ranged weapon). Finally in the end it all comes down to what class you really want to play and enjoy it. You'll obviously take some time to be better/ master-like at both classes , warriors requiring more macro and stance timing than dk. So first do some research on the classes ,guides etc, play both classes for now, get used to it (at least 2-3 months each class), take your time. See how good/fun they are to play then make the right decision and donate for SM and other stuffs since 150 euros is not a small amount. Unless you got loads of $$$$$ then you can just donate on whatever class you want to play and if you don't like it/ not made for that class, donate again for other. ;).

Well, I can say that as UH dk you won't kill good hpala in 1v1 situation, in arena it's different and together with your partner a nice timing of cd's can get stuff done. It takes some target switching and the game itself might take some time if you play let's say dk/hpala or dk/resto druid. For myself I prefer dk/hpala, but best comp for dk is disc/dk and it would make games against hpala comps easier aswell. Warrior, well as Plsno said if you plan on not doing pve for a long time of period to get BiS for warrior then be ready to to pay nice amount of money, but as DK you kinda don't really need all of that. In the end it all depends on you, so i would say go on blackrock make dk/warrior and test yourself there to see what fits you.

What spec is the preferred for pvp? Unholy or frost? Any specialities in each one that should overcome the other spec?
Pressure comes in two forms. Frost is bursty. Unholy is not so much. Unholy is constant. Frost is not. These differences are very important.Quote:
