tank gearing advice

Hi.

I dinged 80 recently and I'm trying to figure out what gear I can get so I can join in heroics. Atm I have this http://imgur.com/a/EEC3t almost all are blues, 2 trinkets are green ( one I know isnt for tanking), all northrend stuff. 2.5k gs with 503 def. I think I need 535 def for heroics and If I buy 2 16defs for the legs and head ( losing their 6stam bonus) I may attain that. No enchants yet.


People ask for like 3.5k gs which is kinda hard to get. Someone was desperate enough to let me come tank one heroic oculus and we wiped once and was close to a few more wipes. We finished it but I rather not go through failures again because I was too squishy.

What gear should I work for? I know there are a couple of pieces from hodir/argent/wyrm rep but else besides this? I dont have the gold ( just 500g atm) for titansteel stuff but I make money somehow for one which of those last me the longest? I mean harder to replace.

which 2 rings are best: solid, staunch, gal'darah' signet?

I think I gotta do the high level dungeons. I barely did those.

Anything requirering titansteel is a waste of money - it's insanely expensive with little extra defense and its going to be replaced soon.

Tempered saronite set (blue one from bs) provides rly nice defense, might get you started (sry too lazy to look your gear up, armory link would be better).
