Player Powerleveling

Someone in game said power leveling was ban-able on lordaeron, but let me make myself clear, I have no interest in power leveling. But I looked through all the player policies and couldn't find any mention of it.

If this is ban-able on Lordaeron and has been mentioned can someone point me to it just for future reference if someone in my guild asks about it. If it hasn't can you please update it if this is the case. If its not ban-able I would still at least like to see a rule on it somewhere just so I have something to reference when people ask about it.

NO BUG EXPLOITING
This may take many forms, but all of them are obvious. If you are profiting of any in-game advantage that shouldn't be happening normally, its a bug exploit and the fault for abusing it is yours and whoever is doing it with you. Don't blame the Server, GM's or Developers for it, as it will only get things worse for you. Some examples of bug exploiting:
- Selling boss loot to players from outside of the original raid: Do not invite players to the raid only to get loot in exchange of anything.
- PvP in Sanctuary: People shouldn't be able to attack others in Sanctuaries, like Argent Grounds and the entrance of Forge of Souls/Pit of Saron instances. Forcing it through magic is not acceptable.
- Avoiding the AFK kick mechanism in Battlegrounds: Do not join Battlegrounds if you aren't willing to help others to win. Using bots or anything else to keep you from being kicked by our anti-afk system is not allowed.
- Exploiting skills: If certain skills/spells can be used in an unusual way to exploit and create an unfair advantage over other players, avoid doing so.
- Exploiting a boss: Boss X hasn't be officially released but you find a way to fight it with whatever skill you have; Boss Y can't hit you and you can basically solo it due to some odd position;
- Other smaller Exploits such as:
- Vehicle exploits.
- Leaving BG starter area before it starts.
- Powerleveling (To bring a low level char to a high level zone to rush its leveling).
- Anything else that gives you advantage over others that abuse the normal system.
- The use of bots (which includes fishing bots).

None of these things are allowed and bans for it can't be appealed.

The punishment may vary depending on severity of the situation.

There is many types of powerleveling. You didn't really say what you meant with powerleveling, so all I can say to that right now is Powerleveling = bannable. Here is a little more detailed answer for the most common types of leveling.

Boosting: You get a high level character to join a group with low level characters and help those low level characters with their low leve instances/quests. This is totally fine as long as the mobs you are killing are not more than 11 level higher than the lowest member of the party.

Mob-tag-boosting: This is where you tag the mobs with your low level characters and kill them with your high level characters, giving the low level characters mroe experience than they should get. This is an exploit and you can be banned for this. This exploit is so common that the chances of being banned is most likely pretty low, because warmane most likely don't have enough resources to monitor this.

Powerleveling with bug: For example, finding a way to bug out some quest so you can complete the quest again and again and again and using that to level up. This is bannable and with a much higher risk than mob-tag-boosting.

You will not get a warmane answer to your question, because they don't want to give an answer. (You're not the first one to ask, others didn't get a reply, I doubt they want to answer to you either.)

What is bannable is tagging skull mobs and getting exp because the retail formula had a built in mechanic to avoid this exploit but here it has not, so its exploiting. Tagging mobs that arent skull though isnt bannable and has been stated by devs

I'm pretty sure the devs were referring to killing mobs while the high level player is in the group, I haven't seen a clear answer from the devs/mods about mob-tag-boosting.

With that logic, wintrading is not an exploit either, since it's not a bug. You are leaving the group with the high level character to avoid the penaulty of having a high level character in group on your low level characters. Definitely an exploit and yes it was fixed in a later patch by Blizzard. But like I said, the chances of getting banned for it is very small, considering how common it is to tag-boost.

You will only be banned if you are exploiting, such as getting experience from skull mobs or abusing a quest.

Leaving an instance party with a high level character, tagging the mobs with a low level character, killing the mobs with a high level character before joining back to the party so the low level character gets full experience from the mobs. Exploit or not? Allowed or not?

ITS NOT AN EXPLOIT. ITS DONE ON RETAIL TOO.

Whats an exploit is tagging skull mobs with a low lvl player and then killing them because you are exploiting the bug that skull mobs give exp

Yes that is an exploit as well. Yes it was done on retail, then blizzard fixed it. I'm guessing the silence of mods regarding tag-boosting means that they don't want to say it's allowed, but they are not going to take action against players abusing it either.

The silence of Moderators means this is an in-game rule, nothing related to the Forums, decided and punished by GMs, who are the ones to clarify any details about this. You are right that Moderators won't take action about players abusing it, though - at least until people start "powerleveling" in the Forums, somehow.

No its not an exploit since its not and was not a bug. I dont know about current retail but at wotlk retail this happened and wasnt punishable, and yes blizzard knew about it.

Mob tagging SKULL (!!!) npcs here should be bannable, because a lot higher level SKULL (!!!) npc gives a lot higher exp than they did in retail. In retail max possible exp you could get for tagged npc locked once npc were skulls, and it didnt matter if its was 15 level higher or 30 level higher, you could get set amount of exp. Here on Warmane exp from skull npcs doesnt lock and you will get a lot more exp from level 30 higher npc, than level 15 higher npc. Here in Warmane experience continues to scale up even after npcs reached skull tag which is a bug and abusing it is bannable, end of story.
