looking for opinion on pvp/pve about hunters.

So, hunters are one of the classes that dont have access to human racial, therefore, double trinketing isn't a posibility in pvp.
I mean, most of people here are going to tell me that they are still competitive, since you are probably maining it.
But in reality, is the difference that big at the end? The question is about arenas for the most part, since as far as bgs go, i don't see any struggle in that, since hunters are topping the dps most of the time. How do u feel playing hunters in bgs? Are there any disadvantages that u would point out? Any big pros?

And for the second part, do they have competitive dmg in pve, to the other top dpses? Are they worth putting time and effort into? Or will i be just disappointed at some point?.
