Characters

Hello,

I wasn´t playing WoW since christmas and now during summer i wanted to play several raids but came back and can´t find any of my characters. I read that there was merge of Deathwing and Ragnaros but also read that characters could be transfered to new server, but i cant find any now. I had characters on Ragnaros...
Is there any chance to get those characters back or are they forever lost???
