Hybrid Tanks Frost/Blood & Blood/Frost

Hello

I am currently working on a dk tank. I know that Blood benefits a lot from the ICC buff where Frost and Unholy get big disadvantage because of the debuff.
As I like to try playing around with specs, I wanted to make a hybrid tank spec with some of the def cooldowns from Blood with the threat from Frost.
This is what I got so far. Can you guys give me some input on the two specs, also which one is more viable / doable (Blood/Frost or Frost/Blood). I mainly had issues building a useful Frost/Blood build. (Main focus currently is Heroic Dungeons and ICC normal)

You can't build a competitive spec for Dungeons and ICC. This is almost as far as it gets in this expansion. For dungeons I suggest a deep Frost spec with http://wotlk.openwow.com/spell=49184 and http://wotlk.openwow.com/spell=48963.

Blood without http://wotlk.openwow.com/spell=49189 is not really viable for ICC. This talent is a huge part of your survivability.

Take http://wotlk.openwow.com/spell=49016 for more raid support. There isn't a good reason to skip it.

I've spent more time than I would care to admin to come up with the bets hybrid spec. This is what I ended up with:

1. I've gone far enough into blood to get Will of the Necropolis.
2. I've also gone far enough into frost for Frigid Deathplate.
3. Most people will tell you that Scent of Blood is worthless and that may be true as I haven't tested this spec yet since I'm still leveling. Although, the reason why I have it is I don't have Heart Strike, Frost Strike or Scourge Strike. This will allow me to get more Rune Strikes off for single target threat.
4. I don't have Epidemic or Morbidity.

In theory, this spec should be the best for survivability outside a well geared Unholy tank who is not tanking ICC. With this spec, you will need to make sure that you manage your runes efficiently. If you are able to hold threat, it will work better than most people think.

Blood has 3% more stamina and same healing as unholy, so I don't know what you really mean by "Blood benefits a lot from the ICC buff where Frost and Unholy get big disadvantage because of the debuff". Yeah, ok, unholy Bone shield value is lower, but it is still crazy good. Frost using tank weapons gain stamina and bonus other stats, maybe even those 3% blood bonus stamina worth.

This is a false statement. If you are to go down the Unholy tree for Bone Shield, you will not be able to get Improved Death Strike. It's the big reason why Blood has more healing.

improved death strike heals 15% of max hp [Blood]
death strike with 3 diseases heals 15% of max hp [Unholy]

This Entire Thread makes me Facepalm, Step1 Will of the Necropolis IS TERRIBLE when in the name of god do you sit at 35% Health in icc with a Holypaladin? nvm the ****ing fact your BLOOD you instantly heal urself with a deathstrike and nullify your 'Amazing Talent' and 99% of the time your overhealing yourself with DS because your healer heals you to full with 1 holylight, nvm the fact now your healer is wasting gcd's because he goes to heal you then you heal yourself.

It's also for attacks that would take you to less than 35%, don't forget that. Bosses in ICC are able to 2-3 shot you. If that second or third hit comes in before a heal, 15% reduction is a big deal. In addition, you don't just spam Death Strike, you learn to time them. Use them in between heals. Let's say your current health is going to allow one more hit, a good timed Death Strike could get you to a point where you will survive that hit before a heal comes in.

That being said, I do like your different take on it. I find your spec very interesting although I would change a few things on it. I'm not sure if you're trying to duel wield or not, but I like to include Anticipation.

Why bother with defencives or self healing if holy paladin will top you with one spell??!? Drop Death Strike, vamp blood, rune tap, get just enough gear to not get oneshotted. Holy paladins will top you up with one EZ GG WP spell!

On serious note
Every time Sindragosas breath or LKs heavy melee strikes me and I see damage absorbed by Will of the Necropolis that would kill me.. makes me smile. You know, things happen, Unchained, enraged, flames, valkyr etc etc that can disable holy paladin for a bit. Wiping because of "paladin should have topped me!" is pretty lame. But that is ok, its not you who is under pressure, doesn't matter if healers enjoy the game. Don't forget to remind your paladin how bad he is, can't keep up.
