depends on the rest of your gear set up, im assuming you are using t10 legs, so i'd go for aldriana's since it gives a bucket load of arp.

No, some pieces give more arp than str counterparts and little bit more crit other than that most agility pieces are bad due to loss of str. Most of our damage skills get a lot of crit from talents.
[Aldriana's Gloves of Secrecy], there is no better item than this if u want to reach armor penetration cap.
2nd best, from my point of view, would be [Scourge Stranglers] from Deathbringer 10m hc ICC.
3rd best, there is no such item in the game when it comes to BIS list.
Agility VS Strength
Agility is good for you. Too much agility is not good for you.
From my point of view, you should go 2-3 agility items to increase ur crit chance since ur Obliterate and Frost Strike crits do 245% (+3% from meta) of ur normal dmg, BUT dont overdo it. Part from [Aldriana's Gloves of Secrecy], Id suggest going for agility wrist [Toskk's Maximized Wristguards] and agility ring [Frostbrood Sapphire Ring] since they give u most amount of crit for least amount of strength lost AND there is no other wrist or ring in game that gives 68 armor penetration. More armor penetration from gear = more strength gems.

I don't think I've ever come across a source that confirms nor denies this: Frost Strike works as a spell rather than melee strike. As such, Frost Strike would not benefit from agility, since agility only grants melee crit.Quote:

Frost Strike is an hybrid ability, LIKE MANY OTHERS, it is a Melee (in this case) ability that makes spell damage at the end. Therefore it is ruled by physical mechanics (MAP/RAP coefficient, Melee/Range Crit and Melee/Range Hit) -ArP can't affect it since the damage type- and SHOULD BE side affected aswell by spell damage modifiers (a.k.a +dmg) because of the damage type (=/= Spell Power Coefficient, =/= Spell Crit, =/= Spell Hit). It this case, instead of a direct coefficient of AP/SP in the skill formula, it got a Weapon Damage Coefficient. It gets the necesary AP/SP that any skill needs, in this case MAP after being filtered by Weapon Damage formulas. Therefore the statement is wrong. It doesnt works as a magical attack rather than a physical attack; it have 3 of 4 factors under physical mechanics.Quote:

As said Frost Strike is basicly a Hybrid Melee Strike. Melee Atk power, Melee Crit, Hit, Expertise will effect FS. Everything from ur Character info in melee section that is buffing ur normal phisical abilities EXEPT armor penetration since its not Phisical DMG that hits the target in the end, its Frost (magic) DMG.

As u can see, arround 76% of ur dmg is Phisical. Only Frost Strike (13.1%), Howling Blast (5.5%), and disease (total of 4.4%) are magic dmg.
Going 2-3 agility items will increase ur Phisical dmg but lower ur magic dmg. Ignoring the fact that the dmg increase is, lets say arround 70% compared to 30% of dmg decreas, u still buff arround 76% of ur dmg. From simple math its a gain in dps.
U basicly lose arround 80atk power for 1.2% crit, or even more. From my expirience 1% crit is equal to arround 100atk power, before u reach soft crit cap that is, after u reach it going more agility is a waste... And on top of that, there are basicly no replacements for those items. There is no 277+ itlvl Gloves / Wrist / Ring that give those stats, mainly that much armor penetration. And with those items u still wont be able to reach the soft crit cap as DK and Paladin, while as Warrior u will be exactly on top of it. Thats why those items are worth going for 100%. DK and Warrior itemisation is similar, and they both get same amount of crit from agility, while Paladins get arround 20% more crit from agility compared to DKs and Warrs, that is why going agility on Rets is even better in some cases. Just my point of view
The leather gloves are pretty much set in stone if you want to maximise on your dps. However, if you feel like "i'm a dk and anything aside from plate is not for me" or are forbidden from rolling/bidding on the item (which is pure stupidity) then the EoF gloves are decent.
I would like to know what dps you pull on bosses in 25hc before you claim the gloves are the best setup.
Individual dps charts are quite bad for comparison since whatever dps you've pulled in a raid is dependant on a lot of things (overall dps, dbw procs, proc timings, human error, latency to name a few). I'd advise using sims since they can do hours worth of tests in order to help you determine what's better/worse.
P.S. By sims I mean Kahories, Rarw is quite **** for frost dks.
So you are telling me your guild just randomly pluck 25 people to form a raid without any compisition? Highly doubt it, sims arent accurate sorry to tell you.
Sims are usually fairly accurate in telling you if item A is better than item B, assuming bugs that would alter that don't exist. Sims may not tell you what items are better on a fight-to-fight basis (for ex., strength>armor pen in a fight that you're cleaving multiple targets for the full duration), and they may not be able to tell you what your exact DPS would be (due to lag, human error and movement). But they are still very much a viable reference point upon which you should rely to help you make optimal gear choices.Quote:
