Envenom spec vs Subtlety?
I keep hearing different responses. What is the overall consensus here
Sub for serious play, mut for fun if you like the spec
Mut is viable, but sub has dance and doesn't have a constant dot that can break blind/gouge
Mutilate (and Combat) are still good but there's just so much you can do with Shadow Step and Shadow Dance that Subtlety is the clear winner, there's almost no competition from the other 2 specs.
Depends on comp. Most people have transitioned to Sub since retail, but Assassination is also very viable playing with comps like priest rogue. Spriest/Rogue will eat Hpal/Awarr teams alive, and considering their prevalence in the ladder, I could see it being possible to get pretty far with it.
The big concern with *** is that it doesn't have a lot of mobility. Deadly poison procs breaking gouge and blind really aren't that important in arena because you typically don't need to hard swap very often, and the priest can fear the target to wait for the dots to fall off for you to resap if that's the issue. It really depends on what you prefer, but both specs in bgs and world pvp are completely viable, though one spec is better than the other depending on the enemy (sub for mages for example, assassination for rets/dks/warriors). Both specs are capable of countering almost anything aside from a decent frost mage and a ret paladin, given that you're skilled enough to outplay them.

Here's a decent mut/disc that shows the reset style of the comp and a pretty good variety of comps.
Get 900 resil for 2s, with arp offparts instead of haste/crit. You'll play vs. nothing but war/hpal in 2s and ~25% arp is better unless you're farming vs. double clothy comps. (also mut is still alot of white dmg)

Probably zero rogues on warmane who can play mut worth ****, though.
