PvP or PvE? What expansion? Wotlk, cata, mop?

For combat spec at least (which I assume you are referring to because of the MH sword), is you always want a slow MH and fast OH. Swords and Axes get benefit from our talent tree, where a dagger does not... but if you have a 1.4 or 1.5 aspd dagger that is better DPS/stats than a sword or axe, use it.

Combat rogues don't have any restricted ability thus they use the highest base damage weapons available thus 2.6 MH & fast OH

Well, when he said Sword, you could assume he was combat and not assassination... and therefor would be using the sword talent which would make the dagger talent not be used. But that is all assumption because little info was given from OP.Quote:
