Sub Rogue: Backstab skill bug?

Hi,

I'm always getting an error that says that i need to be behind my target in order to backstab, but i'm already behind my target. I even tried positioning my character to different angle but still getting the same message. I also noticed that if i switched to cloak and dagger talent and use a skill that will allow me to appear behind my target, i'am able to backstab them at any angle even if the enemy is facing me. Has anyone experienced this behavior for Sub rogue? Right now i switched to Assassination spec.

Tried sub like 3-4 days ago, backstab was working fine ;)

Works fine.. its hard to backstab NPCs cause they have like "auto face you". If you wanna backstab em must use Stun>Backstab.

Thank you for your feedback. I'm just wondering on what i could be doing wrong. I even experienced this on a dummy test subject and on enemy players. I know that Sub rogues deals burst damage and could kill before the stun duration fades, however, i'm still undergeard and is really having hard time keeping up with the enemy. Do you have any tips that you can share on how to pvp effectively for Sub spec? Sorry guys for being noob.

jk, sub scales better with numbers (mastery) so it's one of the more geared = more rewarding kind of spec.
as for the "backstab bug" I think this is more of a "target bug" than the former. circle around the unit while its cc'd and see which spot backstab works.
I just got back from almost a year of hiatus and I'm outgeared by a season, still managed to kill/defeat a few ones.
The secret really is stack mastery. and what better way to stack numbers but with the donor pve trinket.
Saw a rogue with it and said he could kill anyone (20k agi proc + passive base mastery) which i totally believe bc I was like that the previous season.
always get reported for critting 150k on full geared warriors.. but this guy.. he critted me 220k. wtf.

It costs you about 15% damage reduction so usually no one uses pve trinkets, and yeah its either mastery for insane dps if you get lucky or crit if you want to do guaranteed damage (because if you open as a full mastery rouge with dance and no evis crits you do a lot less damage, while a crit rogue will do less damage if everything goes perfect but it will go perfect a lot more often).


Lastly, sub rogue is a gear spec as said before. You need 540+ to start doing really decent damage, but then your burst becomes quite nasty and the numbers get very high - 180k+ evis without any outside buffs can happen quite frequently in bgs. But without gear you suck, badly. I suggest upvoting the conquest cap bug on bugtrackers so you can actually get geared in time as it was intended.
